Time and suffering are the end of the karma of mind and the two, distinguished by disease and movement. Thus, regarding the thirty-sixth question, the ritual of the essential points of body and speech for pacifying the disease of accumulation has been explained with four branches of meaning. Now, the thirty-seventh question of the first chapter, the placement of the body, explains the particularity of the transformation of the elements, the first of which is explained with three branches of meaning: Explaining the various transformations of the division of elements is: The elements are the transformation of earth, water, fire, and wind like this: Because the teacher has not explained it in other tantras, therefore, Ema, it's so amazing, I will speak! This is the teacher's instruction to the compiler. The external are water, earth, fire, and wind. The internal are: The distinctions of flesh, blood, warmth, and breath are: Earth in earth, meaning: From the external earth arises the internal body's earth, therefore, the earth's body has three types: hardness, fluidity, and balance. The remainder also, meaning water also has three, fire also has three, wind also has three, know that, understand through the above explanation. Day and night, etc., understand through the text. Thus, after explaining the various transformations of the division of elements, now, secondly, relying on the state of the elements flowing, solidifying, balancing, and being disturbed, explaining the particularity of the transformation of each karma is: The elements are the solidification of earth, water, fire, and wind, meaning the water element, when the karma of the four aggregates of water operates, it forms in the body, likewise, earth, etc., should also be understood. Flowing and, meaning: When the four elements of water each operate their karma, it arises. Balance comes from, meaning the karma of water, etc., operating arises. There is no certainty in time, that is, when the individual differences of the four elements transform into something special. At that time it remains in a disturbed state, that is, the energies of each fight each other, from which various diseases arise, and the differences in karma and afflictions also differ because of this. Thus, each of the four elements has four, calculated, determining the time, the solidification, flow, balance, and disturbance of water are four. Likewise, earth, fire, and wind are four, totaling sixteen, yogis each determine the time, at the junction of the transformation of elements: The body of water solidifies on the first day of the winter month, flows on the second, balances on the third, and is disturbed on the fourth. This is also water solidifying, water's

Water, Zukpa; equilibrium is fire; disturbance is wind. The changes of the five places, etc., should be understood through calculation. Furthermore, when diseases, etc., occur in their own seasons, and when they occur in other seasons, how to perform dependent origination, etc.; the key points of each element, combined together, the key points of the elements should be consulted in the literature. The transition of elements at the time of transition, that is, the beginning of each year and the beginning of each month; if the month is the main factor, then it is known that they transform separately from the gathering of the five heads. Similarly, for entering, the respective years and months are auspicious. Furthermore, it is auspicious to perform dependent origination from entering. At the time of abiding, the elements are in equilibrium, and clothing and abiding are accomplished. Furthermore, after calculating the respective times, at the time of disturbance, karma and afflictions arise, etc., and it becomes disturbance. Thus, the second, scattered, Zukpa, equilibrium, the actions of disturbance, after showing the differences of transformation through the respective actions; now is the third, by determining the times of day and night, showing the entry into the distinctions of elements, etc.: this is different from distinguishing the places of elements; daytime is calculated as eight fixed times, and nighttime is also calculated as eight times. In the long season of night, daytime is counted from the appearance of dawn; in the long season of daytime, in any place, after a shadow is cast, it is counted as night. A day and night, that is, one day is calculated as sixteen times, and one month is calculated as twelve months. Through this calculation, one year is also calculated as twelve years. In the time of day and night, after casting aside confusion; one's own time is the fixed time of twelve years, and one grasps one's own key in the twelve times. The key to the transition of elements is: in the fixed time of twelve years, it is distinguished by the wise; the time of the rat year, etc., is understood by the wise. Furthermore, water, etc.: Zukpa is the rat; scattering is the ox; equilibrium is the tiger. Earth, that is: Zukpa is the rabbit; scattering is the dragon; equilibrium is the snake. Fire, Zukpa is the horse; scattering is the sheep; equilibrium is the monkey. Wind, Zukpa is the bird; scattering is the dog; equilibrium is the pig. Furthermore, the internal harmony of the elements, and the place of origin, are shown in detail from the distinction. What is not harmonious is: water Zukpa and fire Zukpa are not harmonious; similarly, water scattering and fire scattering; water equilibrium and fire non-equilibrium are not harmonious; earth and wind; wind and earth are also like that.
