When all the assemblies of disturbing emotions are pacified in their own place, the mind abides in its natural state without contrivance, which is calm abiding. Understanding its essence as groundless, rootless emptiness, free from all extremes of elaboration, is insight. Although these two differ in name, they are inseparable in meaning, hence the union of calm abiding and insight. Furthermore, when conceptual thoughts suddenly arise, looking at them directly, they remain spontaneously, which is calm abiding. Seeing the essence of the pure nature of reality is insight. The mind abiding in its natural state is calm abiding. Investigating the essence of conceptual thoughts reveals emptiness as the Dharmakaya, clarity as the Sambhogakaya, and various appearances as the Nirmanakaya. These three are inseparable, the Svabhavikakaya. Knowing without acceptance or rejection is insight. Alternating between simply abiding and maintaining self-recognition gives rise to the experience of the union of calm abiding and insight, which is the instruction. In these instances, if one clings to the experience of bliss, clarity, and non-thought, one will stray into the three realms. Therefore, it is crucial to practice without clinging or grasping. Thus, Orgyen Rinpoche said, "Do not cling to meditation, again and again." Like that. These are the practices of the common vehicle. The particularly profound and superior practice of this instruction is: non-distraction of self-awareness, without distraction, primordial emptiness, whatever arises as the play of awareness arises and is liberated, seeing one's own face nakedly. As it is said, through insight directly seeing the nature of reality, without distraction for even a moment from the essence of self-awareness, the pure nature, with strong diligence, like an uninterrupted flow of a river, by the power of meditating without distraction, all the appearances of incorrect mental activity, dualistic grasping, and delusion gradually subside. The unceasing play of self-awareness, whatever arises, appearances without grasping, arising and liberation simultaneously, self-awareness directly sees its own face nakedly. Thus, in the post-meditation state, because the nature of reality appears directly, the appearances of mental conceptualization subside. So it is said. Not imprisoning Kunjed Gyalpo, abiding steadily in what pervades samsara and nirvana. As it is said, the mind itself, Samantabhadra, possesses awareness like fresh silk, this Kunjed Gyalpo, the maker of all happiness and suffering in samsara and nirvana, in the state of bliss, clarity, non-thought, etc., the essence of the play of wisdom experiences increasing from above, self-nature, compassion, free from the practice of imprisoning awareness, the bonds of painful oppression, and the appearances of clinging, all phenomena and existence.

Having attained stability in the Samadhi that pervades all of Samsara and Nirvana in the Great Perfection, and having expanded the appearance of one's own wisdom, one is said to meet one's own face. The appearance of increasing experience, increases the appearance of wisdom in the Bardo. So it is said. The object to be viewed and the viewer, from the beginning were not found, from the beginning were not seen, memory and awareness are like the wind moving in the sky. Various appearances are the self-radiance of awareness, arising in the field of appearance from habitual tendencies. It is said that the object to be viewed, the viewer, even when viewed, is not found, from the beginning it is not seen, like the sky with broken clouds, memory and awareness are unborn, primordially pure, utterly clear. In the state of unobstructed wind moving in the sky, various appearances, light and rays of light, Bindus and fine Bindus, all bodies and wisdoms, the self-radiance of awareness arises without limit. In the field of appearance, all appearances are exhausted as mere habitual tendencies of the Alaya. At that time, it is said that one proceeds to the meaning of no meditation and the wisdom of no viewing. The appearance of awareness reaching its limit, the Sambhogakaya is realized. So it is said. Emptying everything from the peak of existence down to Naraka, and looking nakedly in an instant. One's own mind, the power of awareness, fiercely arising, sharpening, looking nakedly, and remaining in that state without distraction, realization arises. It is said that everything from the peak of existence down to Naraka is merely labeled with names, but in reality, in the state where not even a particle is established, purified by the wisdom of the three, essence, nature, and compassion, and looking nakedly with one's own face fiercely brought forth and sharpened, the nature of habitual tendencies of proliferation, together with the body, is purified. The experience of phenomena is exhausted, and in the state where the conceptualization of Dharmata is purified, there is no meditation, no distraction, no birth, primordial purity, no action, beyond mind, inexpressible, delusion, philosophical tenets, actions of body and mind, all grasping and clinging are exhausted, and the intention of Nirvana Samantabhadra is transformed into the expanse of Dharmadhatu. Because of the appearance of the purity of Dharmata, the fruit of the Great Perfection, effortless, is attained. Thus, because the ground, path, and result are perfected, Nirvana is not to be sought elsewhere. So it is said. These are also the objects of experience only for those who have karma and fortune. In the Tantra of the Only Son, it is said: This is not the object of experience for all, but the object of experience for those who have fortune. So it is said. Fourth, like that
