Leave it in an unfinished state. Second, to place meditation in a state of unconsciousness: no matter what miracles occur, do not cling to ghosts or have a realization of fear. No matter what adverse conditions or obstacles arise, do not remember, change, think, or contemplate them, but let them be forgotten and placed in a state of self-dissolution. If that doesn't help, then trace it back to its source and place it in the ultimate state of no self-nature. Third, to practice equanimity towards pleasure and pain: if fear and terror arise, or cowardice and anxiety, etc., then meditate on a hundred times greater fear than before, and stare at the nature of the fear and what is feared. Ask where it comes from, where it resides, and what it looks like. If you can't find it, leave it in that state, and the fear will naturally dissolve. The practice of the fifth night is: first, when going to the place of severance, go with experience. Knowing that the external place of severance is empty, realizing that the internal severer is empty, and understanding that the intermediate method of severance is unreal. Among these three, first, know that all external places of severance, such as ghosts and spirits, demons and obstacles, nagas and earth lords, male and female ghosts, kings and wealth lords, diviners, etc., are empty. Also, relying on stoves and anvils, hatred and quarrels, defilements and impurities, leprosy and tumors, pus and boils, diseases and pains, etc., temporarily interrupt the body and life, ultimately hindering ascension and liberation, stealing the wealth of the noble ones, interrupting virtuous deeds, and stealing the life of meditation and samadhi. Know that all of this is emptiness. Second, know that the three doors of body, speech, and mind of the internal severer, as well as the five aggregates, twelve sources, and eighteen elements taken by karma and afflictions, as well as wisdom and knowledge, armor and antidotes, are all empty from the beginning. Third, the intermediate method of severance, in general, is the Tripitaka of the Buddha's words, especially the instructions of the lineage of lamas, and especially the view, meditation, and conduct that one has practiced, etc., all must be realized as empty. In short, all the obstructing demons, the object to be severed, the nature of the interruption, and the key instructions for severing that antidote, must all be viewed as emptiness.

If one examines, emptiness cannot find a flaw in emptiness, and non-existence cannot find a flaw in non-existence. Since no characteristic can find a flaw in no characteristic, all of these should proceed in a state of complete purity with the three spheres being empty. Upon arriving, the practice is: cultivating compassion for gods and demons, cultivating emptiness for fear, and trampling on self-grasping, there are three. First, cultivating compassion for gods and demons: Primarily the local deity of that sacred place, and generally all sentient beings equal to the sky, especially the gods and demons who create obstacles for me, one must repeatedly cultivate immeasurable love and compassion. These beings rely on ignorance, and are inseparable from the causes of hatred and cruelty, so the result is that they only wander in the lower realms and bad migrations, their actions harm others, their deeds torment sentient beings, their desires seek happiness, and their practice is solely the cultivation of suffering. It is not just a matter of saying "How pitiful" with words, but from the depths of the heart, the depths of the bones, and the depths of the feet, remember: May these sentient beings possess happiness, be free from suffering, and quickly attain perfect and complete enlightenment. Recite this one hundred and eight times, thinking that the meaning and words are inseparable, and for the benefit of all sentient beings, may my body, speech, and mind be devoted to virtue, and may I practice the profound instructions of Chöd. Second, cultivating emptiness for fear: In general, all phenomena of existence, samsara, and nirvana are emptiness, and in particular, the obstructing demons and spirits do not have even a particle of truly established existence. Similarly, in one's own perception, all the various appearances that appear like illusions and mirages are merely appearances of one's own mistaken and deluded thoughts, and are not truly established. If they existed, then what exists must be clearly apparent, but in reality, they are not established, and are merely imagined, fabricated, and artificially created. Therefore, if one examines and analyzes well, one will understand that they will naturally disappear like unreal things. Third, trampling on self-grasping: Do not be attached to external objects of attachment, such as wealth, possessions, spouses, and relatives. For the internal support, such as the three of view, meditation, and conduct; the three of hearing, thinking, and meditating; experiences and realizations; clairvoyance and signs of accomplishment, etc.
