Buddhas and immeasurable Bodhisattvas, as well as all heroes, heroines, dakinis, Dharma protectors, and guardians, each with their respective hand implements, are surrounded by a blazing fire of wisdom, like the fire at the end of an eon, burning above, below, and in all directions. Visualize that all harm-doers and demons are like prisoners, unable to escape, crowded around you. Also, visualize that all the demons of the three thousand worlds are helplessly trapped beneath you, and recite PHAT (Tibetan, Devanagari PHAT, Romanized Sanskrit PHAT, meaning "to shatter"). Third, subduing oneself: Think of yourself in this way: The nature of my mind is primordially free from all elaborations, yet I cling to these sudden, various confused thoughts as real and true. How ridiculous! Thinking this, recite PHAT (Tibetan, Devanagari PHAT, Romanized Sanskrit PHAT, meaning "to shatter"), and rest the mind in its natural state of non-thought and equality. When dualistic thoughts arise again, practice whichever of the three subduing meditations you prefer. The meditation of subduing the place prevents ordinary clinging thoughts from arising, and it is necessary to subdue the demons. The meditation of subduing the demons is necessary to bring the demons and harm-doers under control. The meditation of subduing oneself is necessary to realize that phenomena are unreal and to attain liberation. It is said that by practicing in this way, there will be no escape or deception. If that doesn't work, then do this: From time to time, pray to the gurus, and visualize yourself as the guru in India. From your heart, countless red and black PHAT (Tibetan, Devanagari PHAT, Romanized Sanskrit PHAT, meaning "to shatter") syllables, the size of large bird eggs, emanate with their own sound, making a "tshub tshub" sound, blasting all the fierce places, rocks, and harm-doers into dust, turning them to ashes. Also, visualize your awareness as Machig Labdrön, white in color, naked, adorned with six bone ornaments, shaking a hand drum and bell, and uttering the sound of PHAT (Tibetan, Devanagari PHAT, Romanized Sanskrit PHAT, meaning "to shatter"). From her, countless emanations identical to herself emanate, uttering the sound of PHAT (Tibetan, Devanagari PHAT, Romanized Sanskrit PHAT, meaning "to shatter"), shaking hand drums and bells, and performing dances, causing the entire earth to tremble and shake like leaves in the wind. If a large fierce place is stubborn and unyielding, visualize yourself as Vairochana, the four directions, the four families, all
