According to the scriptures, it is not allowed to carry human skin, tiger skin, leopard skin, etc. Chagmey believes that it is permissible to make a white goat skin into the shape of human skin, so carry it that way. Dog skin is placed as if carrying it. It is said that even looking at it is not allowed. Machig said, "Carrying a black dog skin on the shoulder, tying a black bear skin on the head." And so on, there are many sayings about the so-called nine-combined black Chöd practice, but due to the length of the text, I will not write it here. If you want to know, please refer to the Great Commentary. Kapala (kapāla, Devanagari: कपाल, Roman transliteration: kapāla, literal meaning: skull) is a symbol of understanding the meaning of non-birth and non-death, and it is said that only those who have gained warmth in the bone channels can hold it. It is said that one, two, three, etc. pieces are good. Moreover, apart from the Tsokhor, it does not seem necessary to use it often in Chöd practice. I have not seen any saying that the mala is a form of Chöd practice. In Tibet, when Master Vairotsana explained the Vajra Bridge to Mipham Gonpo, he said these things for the sake of the body being able to stand, and later it spread throughout Tibet. In dangerous places, it seems to help to stand. If you do it like a step-by-step teaching in the Jod tradition, it is comfortable. What Machig said seems a bit excessive in dangerous places, so I won't go into details here. Generally speaking, the body's attire is wearing wild animals, dog skins, etc., and being naked and wearing the six ornaments are not allowed. Machig said, "Regarding wrong attire and signs, there are also two types of wrong attire and wrong signs. Among them, the first is wrong attire: clothes are wearing the skin of wild animals, wearing black coarse cloth, wearing human skin, wearing bird skin, using human heads as rice bowls, attaching horns to flutes made of human leg bones to blow, or attaching iron, copper, wood, etc. to blow, holding unprocessed antelope horns in the hand, carrying very large malas made of poisonous wood, so large that the hand cannot hold them, as well as bear skin, and the skin of other frightening wild animals such as tigers, bird feathers, and hats made of these things worn on the head, wearing black hats, wearing long-pointed demon hats, human skin, human scalp with hair, human vertebrae, heads and hands, etc. are all worn on the body.

Wearing black clothes, wearing black boots, wearing black leather shoes, wearing tattered clothes, in short, those who wear bad and inappropriate clothes that are inconsistent with the teachings of the Buddha Bhagavan, are the wrong attire of a Chöd practitioner. However, some treasure revealers say that the attire of Heruka is necessary, which refers to the time when actions such as killing and being able to save are appropriate. The wrong signs are: in the future, those who claim to be Chöd practitioners will generally eat any kind of meat they see, especially human meat, dog meat, horse meat, and eat unclean things such as feces, drink the pus, blood, and urine of patients, eat grass and other things that livestock eat, constantly eat all kinds of unclean things, and drink blood, pus, serum, mucus, and the water used to wash away dirt, as well as suppressing, making alliances with gods, demons, and wild animals, practicing protective circles, reciting wrathful mantras, not according to what is said in the scriptures of one's own tradition, but using unverified nonsense to bind gods and demons, harming the local deities and land spirits of the place where one lives, harming other people, gods, demons, and sentient beings, performing evil spells and poisons, and some Chöd practitioners who constantly associate with harmful intentions are wrong Chöd practitioners and are signs of destroying the profound Dharma Mahamudra. Thus it is said. If you want to know more details, please refer to the Great Commentary. In addition, the description of the goals and signs of Chöd is also considered a sign of being blessed by flesh-eating ghosts and death gods, so it is not allowed. In addition, there are many deviations, such as deviating into cutting off female demons, deviating into corpse trading, deviating into town rituals, deviating into eliminating obstacles, deviating into resurrecting corpses, deviating into cutting off diseases, deviating into catching zombies, deviating into merely seeking food and clothing, deviating into subduing demons, and so on. Although there are descriptions of these in the scriptures, without the confidence of view and altruistic intention, if one punishes others for one's own desires and puts it into action, one will deviate and make mistakes, so it should be avoided.
