So-called gods and demons have the same root, the difference lies in being enlightened or unenlightened. From the perspective of meaning, all that has been said above has no truth whatsoever. In the true ultimate truth, there is no such thing as gods and demons, nor is it tainted by the stains of its maturation. One must understand the view of the self-nature purity of the Dharmadhatu. A yogi who understands in this way, for the practice of the Great Seal Cutting, must also understand the four distinctions of outer, inner, secret, and suchness, and be able to benefit gods and demons in practice. With bodhicitta and compassion, do not be stingy with generosity, and strive with fierce diligence. Thus it is said. The second common topic is the presentation of the equipment of an ascetic when cutting off dangerous places. There are two types of distinctions between outer and inner dangerous places. The first is the case where it is suitable to hold a hand drum, the rules of the Machik school and other schools are not very different, but it is best to use sandalwood, agarwood, red sandalwood, etc., and trees with fruits, but not thorny trees. In terms of size, according to the rules of the saints, it is one cubit, and according to the rules of the Machik school, it is one foot. In short, it should not be less than one span high, whether it is made by an auspicious person or newly made. The symbolic meaning of this is explained as follows: The hand drum is made of wood, which is a symbol of holding the life force of the teachings. Hollowing it out is a symbol of having the meaning of emptiness. On the other side, mantras are written on the inside of the leather, with fine lotus petals, together with the heart of the flower, in which the seed syllables of the ten heroes and heroines are drawn. Writing these is a symbol of having the meaning of compassion. Tying a belt on it is a symbol of tying the belt of discipline. Splitting the tongue of the hand drum in half is a symbol of the union of skillful means and wisdom. Making the base of the hand drum with conch shells is a symbol of blocking the gates of the lower realms. Wearing a rosary is a symbol of turning the wheel of Dharma. Wearing a tiger skin on the right is a symbol of subduing heroes. Wearing a leopard skin on the left is a symbol of subduing heroines. Wearing dead hair on the right is a symbol of generating impermanence in the continuum. Wearing living hair on the left is a symbol of transforming adverse conditions into the path. Alternatively, use dead hair to subdue dead ghosts, and use living hair to subdue living ghosts.

It is also said that. Hanging a white silver mirror is a symbol of the manifestation of the clear light of Dharma. Hanging five-colored silk is a symbol of the five bodies and five wisdoms. Hanging a bell that makes a pleasant sound is a symbol of the good name spreading in all ten directions. This is the ritual of Machig, and the only difference between it and the Nyingma ritual is whether to hang iron hooks, arrows, and quivers, and whether to ask about the skull. Regarding the way of ringing the bell, the Machig tradition only has a general way, and no special way has been seen. The Nyingma tradition has the three syllables "ra tsa hri ya", and the three phrases "Ma and La Dakini", the three phrases "Ma and Dakini", the phrase "Ma and Dakini gather here", and the three phrases "Three Holy Buddhas", pray to Machig, and may the Great Mother bless. It is said that this was written by the famous Nyingma vidyadhara Tsewang Norbu. According to the practice of the Lamas of our own tradition, there are the three phrases "Ma and Dakini", the three phrases "Ma and La Dakini", and four "Hūṃ (藏文:ཧཱུྃ།,梵文天城体:हुं,梵文罗马转写:hūṃ,汉语字面意思:吽)". The first six phrases symbolize the six perfections, and the four "Hūṃ (藏文:ཧཱུྃ།,梵文天城体:हुं,梵文罗马转写:hūṃ,汉语字面意思:吽)" symbolize the four immeasurables. In this way, the bell is rung to praise the symbols of the holy ones. However, the bell is also rung during long songs of bliss. Other than that, there are no other general special ways. The bell is like the one that comes from the tantras, or the bell of the hero, which is similar to the one surrounded by a chain of soft bells and vajras. It has not been seen that Machig has said anything about it. Even if there is no bell, it is fine, but in order to keep the union of method and wisdom inseparable, it is very good for the Lamas of the Chöd lineage to ring the bell in union. Not damaging the human leg bone means including the bones at both the head and tail ends. The color should be white as the best, purple as the middle, and variegated as the lowest. Ordinary colors such as grayish-white will become defects, so they are not allowed. The shape should be slightly curved, and the marrow of the bone should be naturally curved inward. It is not good if it is curved to the left or right, curved in sections, has cracks in bundles, is thick and has many lines, is very thick, is not curved and is straight, is too swollen, has no marrow for a tight sound, is loose, has small and smooth tips under the feet, has many wrinkles in the middle of the foot, has traces of being gnawed by pigs, is rough, has many corners, is flat, and in general, is unsightly and unpleasant to the eye.
