Cutting off the self-grasping of the intermediate state is the Dharma of my beggar. Abiding in the unborn expanse of awareness, hidden in the realm of space, in the state of emptiness that is unceasing, spontaneous, and self-liberated, the inner self-grasping is naturally cut off, and occupying the stronghold of uncreated awareness is the Dharma of my beggar. In general, what kind of benefiting beings is greater? Benefiting a hundred formed beings is not as great as benefiting one formless, fierce, and extremely powerful spirit. Because one powerful non-human harms countless formed and formless beings, causing all beings to suffer, and it itself is constantly accompanied by evil thoughts, experiencing endless suffering in the lower realms. Therefore, in order to prevent it from harming other beings, and also to liberate it from the suffering of the lower realms, it must be tamed. Most people nowadays expel it, and even if it can be expelled once, it will certainly cause harm to beings later. I can also expel such a powerful spirit, but compared to expelling it, taming it and placing it in happiness, I see greater merit, and the method of taming is not through amulets, medicines, and fierce mantras, but by seizing it with the iron hook of loving-kindness and compassion, taming it solely through warm flesh and blood, and causing it to attain unsurpassed enlightenment, that is the Dharma of my beggar. Furthermore, benefiting a hundred women is not as important as benefiting one man. Benefiting a hundred men is not as important as benefiting one renunciate. Benefiting a hundred people driven by circumstances is not as important as benefiting one who enters the Dharma due to causeless renunciation and sorrow. Benefiting a hundred fools is not as important as benefiting one wise person. Benefiting a hundred people who only care about themselves is not as important as benefiting one who has the ability and courage to benefit others. Benefiting hundreds and thousands of animals is not as important as benefiting one who can speak and understand meaning. Benefiting a hundred lay practitioners is not as important as benefiting one novice monk. Benefiting a hundred novice monks is not as important as benefiting one fully ordained monk.

Therefore, it is very important to benefit from understanding even a single meaning of the Prajnaparamita. It is more important than accumulating hundreds of gatherings of material possessions. It is more important to accumulate the gatherings of one's own body. It is more important to make offerings and donations for seven days in a secluded place than to stay in a monastery and perform hundreds of special virtuous deeds. It is more important to cultivate bodhicitta towards someone who is angry with you and shows malice than to be loving towards a hundred people who cause you mental anguish. It is more important to have a moment's recollection of not clinging to the activities of this life, knowing that all conditioned things are impermanent, than to endure hardships for a lifetime for the sake of desiring the fruits of this life. It is more important to be able to subdue a little of the harm of self-grasping than to subdue hundreds of foreign ghosts and demons. It is more important to meditate for a moment on the nature of selflessness than to accomplish virtue for a hundred years with self-grasping. It is more important to recognize for a moment the thought of when one will die than to spend hundreds of years in study and practice with the desire for scholarship and fame. It is more important to remember for a moment to be humble and do good deeds, and to dedicate them to sentient beings, than to practice Dharma and virtue for a hundred years for the sake of desiring to be a wise, virtuous, and excellent person, and for the sake of profit and fame. These are the teachings of me, a beggar nun. Nowadays, for those who are afflicted by illness and evil spirits, fearing the separation of body and life, they invite and honor those who are called blind sorcerers of the outer path, the Bonpos. The blind Bonpos, through rituals, give offerings to the obstructing forces so that they do not cause harm. They say that this will help those who have illnesses and evil spirits. They kill innocent animals, causing them to suffer various torments, offering fresh flesh and blood, and collecting other evil symbols. The Bonpos, through rituals, give offerings to the obstructing forces so that they do not cause harm, or they say that they offer their body and life as ransom. They kill innocent sentient beings who are free from illness and guilt, hoping to pacify illnesses and evil spirits, avert obstacles and misfortunes, and prolong life. This is like killing the father to save the son, or killing the son to save the father. Those who do such things are foolish, have wrong views, and their actions are reversed and meaningless. Therefore, if one offers the best of food and wealth to the Three Jewels and asks for the blessings to pacify illnesses and evil spirits, then illnesses and obstacles will be removed and merit will be increased.
