Are the fruits of the tree! If planted, they ripen and are nutritious when eaten. If you want to make fruits, make them on that! These twelve essential points of mind, are taken from the yogi's mind as they arise. You, the patron, please give a reply of faith! Having said this, the patron, a faithful butcher named Dorje Mo, said, "Please say another condensed word." So he sang this song again. Alas! May the blessing of the lama enter the mind, May it bless the mind to realize emptiness. For the faithful offering of the patron, I will sing a song that pleases the gods. Appearance, emptiness, and non-duality, these three, are the condensed view of these three. Clarity, non-conceptuality, and non-distraction, these three, are the condensed meditation of these three. Non-attachment, non-fixation, and non-confusion, these three, are the condensed conduct of these three. No hope, no doubt, and ultimate fulfillment, these three, are the condensed fruit of these three. No self-nature, no concealment, and no hypocrisy, these three, are the condensed samaya of these three. Having said this, the patron was pleased and went home. In general, the people of Nyenam, although faithful, were too poor to provide great service, so they did not steal virtue with wealth. After five or six months, they were disappointed due to poverty, so he said, "Do not send them into the wind of starvation." All of this is surrounded by Spo ri spo mthon. Alas! After spending six years in Spo ri spo mthon, he went to Brag dmar mchong gling khyung gi rdzong, where he vowed to practice for twelve years, twelve months, twelve days, twelve meals, and one-fourth of twelve. He wondered if he would die, and the local people did not notice where he was. He thought of dying through practice, but there was no sign of dying at all, and he became mentally impaired. He thought, "I have already abandoned worldly affairs. If I do not die yet, I will practice Dharma myself," and such a thought arose. He thought of cooking some barley to eat, so he went to gather firewood and found a piece of broken wood. He placed it on a stone slab to rest, when suddenly a wind blew and scattered all the wood. He thought, "All is impermanent, this saying is true. When will I also become impermanent?" Thinking this, he thought that he must gather some more firewood anyway. When he broke a large dry tree, as he fell, he lost consciousness. In the evening

As the sun rose, a gentle breeze stirred, feeling like awakening from a dream, a sudden sadness arose, and a strong feeling of sorrow welled up within. As he looked towards the east, he saw a white cloud floating in the direction of the Lama's monastery, and he remembered the Lama. At that time, he sang this song of remembrance of the Lama. Prayers to the venerable Lamas! Please soothe the heart of this beggar with your compassion. In the direction where the white clouds float in the east, In the monastery in the warm valley of the south, Dwells my Lama, If I were to say his name, he is called Marpa Lotsawa. If he were alive now, how wonderful it would be! If he were alive now, how joyful it would be! Even if it means taking a long detour, I long to meet him. Even if the path is difficult, I long to meet him. Ah! Once again, I remember the Lama. Thinking and thinking, I remember the venerable one. The Mother who pleases the Buddha, the Selfless Mother. If she were alive now, how wonderful it would be! If she were alive now, how joyful it would be! Even without gifts, I long to meet her. Even without offerings, I long to meet her. Ah! Once again, I remember the Lama. Thinking and thinking, I remember the venerable one. The profound empowerment, the four symbolic empowerments. If they could be bestowed now, how wonderful it would be! If they could be bestowed now, how joyful it would be! Even though my offerings are small, I long to offer them. Even though life is difficult, I long to request them. Ah! Once again, I remember the Lama. Thinking and thinking, I remember the venerable one. The profound tantra, Hevajra. If it could be taught now, how wonderful it would be! If it could be taught now, how joyful it would be! Even though my wisdom is small, I long to inquire. Even though my mind is dull, I long to listen. Ah! Once again, I remember the Lama. Thinking and thinking, I remember the venerable one. The profound instructions, the Six Dharmas of Naropa. If they could be taught now, how wonderful it would be! If they could be taught now, how joyful it would be! Even though my meditative endurance is small, I long to meditate. Even though the four elements are declining, I long to practice. Ah! Once again, I remember the Lama. Thinking and thinking, I remember the venerable one. The Dharma friends of U-Tsang, the gathering of the faithful. If they were alive now, how wonderful it would be! If they were alive now, how joyful it would be! Even though my meditative endurance is small, I long to meditate. Even though the four elements are declining, I long to practice. Ah! Once again, I remember the Lama. Thinking and thinking, I remember the venerable one.
