Compared to offering to the Buddhas of the three times, offering to a pore of the master's hair is more supreme. So it is said. Compared to offering to all the Buddhas of the three times with a pile of jewels as large as Mount Sumeru, the merit of offering a single hair of the guru is greater. I asked: Is there a method of accumulating merit deeper than this? Answer: Yes. I requested: Please grant this method to me. Answer: If you do not waste the guru's instructions and put them into practice, that is it. I asked the virtuous friend Nyukrumpa: Is it possible to attain Buddhahood in one lifetime and one body? Answer: It is necessary to have no attachment to this life at all. I asked the virtuous friend Yarlungpa, and he said: That statement is not definitive, but rather has a hidden meaning. Menri Ludrupa said: It is necessary to have a lifespan equal to the sun and moon, to be the seventh incarnation, to be able to see the face of the Yidam deity, and to be able to walk in the sky. I asked: Is that so? Answer: That statement is not a hidden meaning, but a definitive statement. It is necessary to have no attachment to this life. From a qualified guru, a qualified disciple receives complete initiation into the mandala of secret mantra, and then continuously meditates on the instructions of the generation and completion stages. The best will attain Buddhahood in this life, the intermediate will achieve it at the time of death or in the bardo, and even the most lazy will achieve it within seven or sixteen lifetimes. If one does not achieve it, it is because one has broken one's vows, and there is a danger of temporarily falling into the lower realms. In general, Lhaje Tonpa, do not associate with people who have biased views, do not listen to their words, and do not follow them. Associate with people who practice meditation, listen to their words, and follow them. All consultations should be done with holy beings who have renounced this life. Some people who are deluded by this life will come to teach you the eight worldly dharmas. In general, there are pitfalls in emptiness. There are four ways to fall into emptiness: emptiness falling into extension, emptiness falling into the nature of knowables, emptiness falling into antidote, and falling into attachment. Emptiness falling into extension means that someone says that everything that can be apprehended by the mind, whether it is the apprehender or the apprehended, is emptiness. Emptiness falling into the nature of knowables means that someone says that all dharmas of samsara and nirvana are emptiness. Emptiness falling into antidote

It is said that looking at whatever arises of afflictions and conceptual thoughts is itself emptiness. It is said that if emptiness becomes an attachment, then there is nothing to meditate on, and all meditation is emptiness. These are not the correct paths. However, for beginners, it is somewhat helpful in reversing the clinging to the truth of the mind. In general, if the root of the mind is not cut, even if there are experiences of bliss, clarity, and non-thought, one will not transcend the three realms (desire realm, form realm, formless realm). Not cutting the root is an experience of action. So, what is the correct path? When a qualified lama introduces a suitable student to the innate knowledge, that innate knowledge pervades all sentient beings. For all Buddhas, the appearance of the Dharmakaya is clear. When a yogi meditates with countless methods, the view is spontaneously realized, afflictions are naturally stopped, conceptual thoughts are spontaneously cut off, and wisdom spontaneously arises. At that time, the realization experienced cannot be expressed in words, like the pleasure of a young woman or the dream of a mute person. That basis exists in all sentient beings, but it is not recognized. Therefore, it is important to rely on a lama with lineage. Therefore, do not direct the innate knowledge anywhere, and do not close any doors. No example can represent it, no expression can reach it, and no word can describe it. Therefore, do not fabricate, but relax in the natural, uncorrected state. Having said that, he sang this song: Be certain of the view, look at your own mind! If you seek the view outside the mind, It is like a giant searching for lost treasure! Ange, Lhaje Tönpa Wa! Be certain of meditation, eliminate the faults of dullness and agitation! If you eliminate the faults of dullness and agitation in meditation, It is like lighting a butter lamp during the day! Ange, Lhaje Tönpa Wa! Be certain of conduct, do not alternately accept and reject! If conduct is alternately accepting and rejecting, It is like a bee falling into a trap! Ange, Lhaje Tönpa Wa! Be certain of samaya, rest in the confidence of the view! If you seek a samaya without protection from elsewhere, It is like rowing upstream! Ange, Lhaje Tönpa Wa! Be certain of the fruit, generate certainty in your mind! If you seek an unobtainable fruit from elsewhere, It is like a frog jumping into the sky! Ange, Lhaje Tönpa Wa! Be certain of the lama, ask your own mind!
