The Vajra body exists like the external world, as both inside and outside are manifestations of the mind. Then, is the desire body similar to the desire realm's container world? Or is it the same as the three realms? Because it is a manifestation of the mind, all three realms are the nature of the inner self. Thus, without knowing that all inside and outside are manifestations of the mind, sentient beings, due to the power of their discriminating thoughts and pervasive conceptions, speculate in various ways about the measure, shape, and so on of the container world. Outsiders believe that Brahma and Vishnu created the world, and proponents of meaning in our own school say that external objects are a collection of true atoms. These arguments have been refuted in the great treatises composed by Nagarjuna and others. Then, regarding the measure and arrangement of the world, the explanations in the Kalachakra and the Abhidharma differ in many ways. Which of these is the same as the inner body? There is no contradiction with any of them. In the common vehicle, it is also said that the self-fruit appears as the object, that is, the external world appears from the power of the inner body. In the Great Vehicle, it is said that all phenomena are nothing other than manifestations of the mind. Therefore, all realms of the world can also be posited in the body of a yogi. For example, if the Tathagata and his retinue, and the Chakravartin king and his army, come and enter a five-cubit cave, the cave does not appear to become larger, nor does the sphere of activity of the Buddhas and so on appear to become narrower. There is a measure of appearance for what appears in the five-cubit cave, and there is also a measure of appearance for the Chakravartin and his army being accommodated. Similarly, all the different measures and arrangements of the world have their measure of appearance, because they are not truly established in ultimate reality. In the sutras and tantras, it is said that different arrangements of the world are taught due to the different perceptions of those to be tamed. Second, the detailed explanation has nine parts: Showing other places etc., the order of the elements, the mountains, the seven continents, the five inner elements, the seven seas, the planets etc.

Earth one, fire three. Combined with birthplaces and Kalachakra, etc. The first has two parts: combined with twenty places, and combined with eleven desires. The first is: From the crown of the head, four fingers, is the formless realm, below that, sixteen fingers are the realm of form itself. Below that are the desire realm gods and humans. Thus it is said. In the Kalachakra it is said: Twenty fingers are one cubit. As it is said, the body is made into four cubits, and one cubit is made into twenty-four fingers to understand, therefore, from the crown of the head, four fingers are the place of the four formless births. Below that, sixteen fingers are the sixteen abodes of the form realm itself. From below that to the navel is the place of the six desire realm gods and humans. The second is: From the navel to the sole of the foot, it is said that the places of the Asuras, Nagas, Pretas, and the eight hot hells are in order. Thus it is said. From the navel to the crossroads is the earth mandala, the place of the Asuras, Nagas, Pretas, and the gravel water hell. The thigh is the water mandala, the place of the sandy water hell and the muddy water hell. The shin is the fire mandala, the place of the fire hell and the inexhaustible smoke hell. Below that is the wind mandala, the place of the crying hell and the great darkness hell. The sole of the foot is the place of the eighth vajra hell, and these are said to be combined in order. Second, combining with the elements in successive layers: The three joints of the feet and hands are the mandalas of wind, fire, and water in order. The chest is earth. Thus it is said. As previously shown, below the navel are the four mandalas, or the three joints of the foot, ankle, knee, and hip, and the three joints of the hand, wrist, elbow, and shoulder, from the outside in order: the ankle and wrist are the wind mandala, the knee and elbow are the fire mandala, and the hip and shoulder are the water mandala. As previously said, below the navel is the earth mandala, or the square chest is the earth mandala. It also appears that way in the commentary. Third, combining with the mountains: The spine is Mount Meru.
