In summary, it can be six, or like this, dividing it into four can also fulfill the meaning. The third is the uncommon practice of the extremely subtle wind-essence illusory body. Although it is treated as an additional meaning in the 'Golden Elixir Root Text,' the Eighth (referring to the Eighth Karmapa)'s view divides it into two: the main practice and the auxiliary. First, with the three spontaneously accomplished solitudes, leave the three primordial gates unaltered. By seizing the wind-mind, from the arising of appearances and mind in sequence, cause the illusory body to arise in reverse order. Having clarified this, sit with legs in the vajra posture, spine straight like an arrow, eyes open without smiling, gazing straight ahead. Without exhaling or inhaling, the mouth neither speaks nor remains silent, the tongue and lips not touching, the spontaneously accomplished vajra recitation. Hands in equipoise, not moving. In short, leave the spontaneously accomplished body in complete solitude, unmoving in its own state. Within that state, the spontaneously accomplished mind is solitary. Completely cease all conceptualization of the three times. Do not think about existence or non-existence, emptiness or non-emptiness, object of meditation, meditator, meditating or not meditating, or anything else. Within that state, if the arising of discursive thoughts occurs, do not continue to pursue them, but seize all thoughts, whether ascending or descending, as non-thought and non-distraction. If dullness or drowsiness occurs, raise the gaze and sharpen awareness. If agitation occurs, lower the gaze and relax consciousness. If there is neither dullness nor agitation, maintain equanimity. So, is it good at the beginning and bad at the end? Is the first session good and the later session bad? Like a pond with depleted water, this is a blockage of the channels, so nourish the channels and relax consciousness to meditate. Is it bad at the beginning and good at the end? Is the first session bad and the later session good? Like a canal not bringing water to the pond, this is because the effort of application is insufficient, so meditate with greater effort. Meditating in this way, generate devotion to the guru as the dharmakaya. Offer all of your outer, inner, and secret body, possessions, and wealth, and through the power of blessings and the strength of practice, seize the mind of Mahamudra. By seizing it, you seize the wind. From this, experiences arise: as earth dissolves into water, mirage-like appearances occur, with five kinds of light, shimmering blue, hazy blue, and the appearance of rippling water. As water dissolves into fire, appearances like rising smoke and dissipating smoke occur.

When fire dissolves into wind, red dots like fireflies appear, and subtle red lights emerge. When wind dissolves into mind, it appears like a butter lamp. When mind dissolves into mental factors, it is like the appearance of the moon. When mental factors dissolve into ignorance, it is like the sun. When all ignorance dissolves into emptiness, it is like Rahu or darkness. At that time, everything is empty, like a cloudless sky, which is said to be the Dharmakaya. Such appearances arise. Then, the three appearances arise in reverse order: from the emptiness of everything, ignorance arises; from that, mental factors arise; and from that, mind arises. The three minds, together with wind, give rise to the illusory body adorned with marks and signs. Symbolized by the twelve examples of illusion, each manifests as the Nirmanakaya in the realm of one's own awareness and wisdom. Such appearances arise. Moreover, all the stable and moving pure appearances of the three times, and the impure three realms, are seen as if without obscurations, like a myrobalan fruit placed in the palm of one's hand. This is a brief summary of the practice of the illusory body arising from abiding in the three solitudes. The methods of practice using the first three mudras, etc., are omitted here. 5. Second, the method of enhancement: If, after practicing in this way, experience does not arise, or if one thinks it is unreasonable for the illusory body to be accomplished from emptiness, then in order to generate faith, one should perform the enhancement through the methods of a dark room, lime water, a sword, and a mirror. The details are explained in the instructions on the inseparability of wind and mind, etc. One should approach the lotus feet of the Vajra Master and supplicate. 3. Third, the instructions on the self-liberation of dream delusions have three parts: 1. Grasping; 2. Training; 3. Meditating on Suchness. The first is divided into two: maintaining continuous mindfulness during the day and forcefully grasping the instructions at night. The first is: In a solitary place, establish a strict retreat, and contemplate that the activities of samsara are meaningless, and that all phenomena are like illusions and dreams. Because they do not understand this, the poor mother sentient beings wander in samsara! Generate great compassion. In all four postures, think like this: Alas! All these appearances are like illusions and dreams. I must recognize that this is a dream. Especially tonight, I must dream, and I must recognize it in the dream.
