The reason for saying that is this. Other schools also have other ways of explaining it, but this is just mentioned in passing. Second, to stabilize and increase the experience that has arisen, there are two types: appearance as illusion and bardo as illusion. The first one has two parts: the actual practice and the enhancement. The first one is the meditation during waking hours. For someone with sharp faculties, once they have grasped and become proficient in dreaming, the meditation during waking hours will naturally arise. For someone with medium faculties, perhaps they can develop it by simply expanding the current appearance with the experience of dreaming. Here, it refers to someone with the lowest faculties. It is best if one can become proficient in purifying dreams. Even if not, if one can grasp the dream and have the experience of it being like an illusion, then one can meditate like this during the day: The preliminaries are done as before. As before, focus the mind slightly on the syllable ༀ་ (Tibetan: ༀ་, Sanskrit Devanagari: ओ, Sanskrit Romanization: oṃ, Chinese literal meaning: Om) at the throat, and visualize oneself and others, as well as the container and contents of the world, these appearances are without inherent existence, like a dream. Combine the experience of dreaming with mindfulness and rest slightly. Meditate on this repeatedly, this is one session of practice. Then, on top of that, visualize all appearances disappearing like a rainbow dissolving into the sky. Do not think of anything and rest in that, meditate on this repeatedly. This is the second session of practice. Then, as before, first generate the intention of non-reality and non-conceptualization, and from within emptiness, visualize oneself appearing as Self-Arisen Vajra or the form of Selfless Mother. Visualize all the container and contents of the world transforming into deities and palaces. This is the third session of practice. When the deity appears, if the feeling of illusion also arises naturally, that is sufficient. Otherwise, also practice the intention of illusion on the wheel of the mandala. This is the fourth session of practice. During all the session breaks, also practice the deity's form and the intention of illusion. This is the fifth session of practice, which are the five sessions of practice separated from one great practice. The second is, then place a mirror in front of oneself, and when one's reflection appears, visualize many people praising and making offerings to it. The reflection has no joy. Visualize someone slandering and beating it. The reflection has no hatred. Visualize that everything is like this. This is one session of practice. Then move it between oneself and the mirror and meditate. This is the second session of practice. Meditate on oneself in the same way, this is the third session of practice. Similarly, one can also practice by having the reflection of a painted or sculpted image of a yidam appear in the mirror, and so on.

Third, it is to extract the essence of the above six focuses. Dream and waking illusions are the true path to enlightenment in this life for diligent practitioners. That is, by meditating on both Tummo and dreams, it is best if experience arises in both. Still, cultivate and nurture both. Even if it arises in only one of them, it is sufficient to focus on that one and meditate. Whichever it may be, it needs to be completely uninterrupted. But that is rare for people nowadays. A meditation of Samadhi is indispensable. With it, one can blend death and all the Bardo states. Second, regarding the instructions on the illusory body of the Bardo, first, relying on the first Bardo, the clear light of death, to recognize the Dharmakaya is considered to belong to the path of attaining Buddhahood in this life, therefore the Bardo is most important. Second, relying on the second Bardo, the illusory body, to recognize the body of union. Third, blocking the gateways to the six realms of rebirth. These two are the actual instructions for attaining Buddhahood in the Bardo. As a supplementary point, fourth, if the gateways to rebirth are not blocked, there are instructions for choosing a place of rebirth. Therefore, according to the root texts, if one has some experience of dream illusion or Tummo, it is said to be like meditating only at the time of death. But if one does not practice now, one will not have confidence, so one must practice. First, practice like the previous preliminaries. When I die, I must take death as the path to the Dharmakaya. I think one should meditate like this. The intention of knowing that death is taken as the path should come continuously in between the focuses. Then, four fingers below one's navel, within the triangular source of phenomena of the red knot of the root channel, in the center of the red four-petaled lotus chakra, there is a red A (Tibetan: ཨ, Devanagari: अ, Romanized Sanskrit: a, Literal Chinese meaning: No). On the four petals, also visualize four red Anuttaras (Tibetan, Devanagari, Romanized Sanskrit, Literal Chinese meaning). This is the first key point of focus. When earth dissolves into water, the body cannot support itself, and one feels like sinking into the earth or being pressed down. It seems that an experience like a vague cloud arises. Focus the awareness on the A (Tibetan: ཨ, Devanagari: अ, Romanized Sanskrit: a, Literal Chinese meaning: No) in front. This is the second key point. That A (Tibetan: ཨ, Devanagari: अ, Romanized Sanskrit: a, Literal Chinese meaning: No) dissolves into the right breast. When water dissolves into fire, the body experiences coldness and trembling. It feels like the sounds and phenomena that appear are fleeting like smoke, focus the awareness on the right breast.
