I, meditate on going at a moderate speed. Some lamas say to meditate on white to purify sins, or to meditate on red to gather deities. When accomplishing the four activities, follow the Chakrasamvara Tantra and distinguish four different objectives: For pacifying, visualize white going swiftly like the force of an arrow; for increasing, visualize yellow going like a bunch of peacock feathers; for subjugating, visualize red going like an iron hook; and for wrathful, visualize black going like a twisted thread. Among these, the first is that the mantra garland goes swiftly like the force of an arrow, with the light flickering, like a wheel of fire. The second is that each letter of the mantra garland emits many five-colored rays, mainly yellow, swirling and becoming thicker towards the bottom, like a peacock feather with its head and tail reversed. The third is that at the bottom of the previous letter, the light forms the shape of an iron hook; at the top of the following letters, it forms the shape of a lasso, and the rays are connected and go in a curved manner. The fourth is that like throwing a spear or twisting a rope, the following letters propel the previous ones, going fiercely and violently. In all of these, the light can be touched, but the letters cannot. In general, for the three recitations of extending, contracting, arranging, and shaking, it is possible to combine the objectives of the four activities. During extending and contracting, combine the mantra itself with the light, with the movement of extending and contracting. During arranging, combine with the light that arises from the mantra. In general, father tantras mainly perform extending and contracting recitation, and mother tantras mainly perform shaking recitation. To generate samadhi, mainly perform mental recitation, stopping recitation, and vajra recitation. In all cases, the three recitations of mantra, image, and yoga are the main ones. These are also from the "Ear of Instructions": "Merely reciting the mantra is the recitation of mantra. Merely remembering the deity's yoga is the recitation of image. Merely thinking of its reality is the recitation of yoga." The recitation of mantra also has many forms, such as reciting the root mantra or near-root mantra on the seed syllable in the heart, and the assembly of deities in the mandala.

Having blessed the earth with a mudra, for the benefit of sentient beings, connecting only with the mantra and the thread of the mala, through inhalation, placing the seed syllable of the heart within it. After reciting all the mantras of the individual deities, spreading and gathering them separately, this is called the recitation of the vow. With the pride of the equality of all dharmas, causing the mala of mantras to enter one's own mouth, reaching the lotus from the vajra path. Rising upwards from the Avadhuti path, taking it from the mouth of the Bhagavati Mother, entering through the door of one's own mouth, contemplating the cycle in this way, one should recite the mantra of the mala, this recitation with relaxed and peaceful letters is called the gentle recitation. Only with the difference of entering the mouth of the Bhagavati Mother and taking it out from one's own mouth, the recitation with dense and rough letters is called the wrathful recitation. Reciting the heart mantra and so on intensely is the recitation of the wrathful deity. Thus it is said. Second, the time for recitation: On the four great festivals, and during times of great change such as when the sun and moon are eclipsed by Rahu, or at any other time as desired. However, for most recitations, it is especially praised to begin in the middle month of winter. One day can be divided into six sessions, three sessions, four sessions, or two sessions for recitation. Third, eliminating the faults of recitation: In the "Two Examinations Tantra" it says, "Meditate in samadhi and recite." And, "Recite the secret mantra without interruption." Therefore, one must recite without separation from samadhi, in one place without interruption. Indulging in body and speech, unclear focus, relaxed effort, moving from one place to another while reciting, reciting other different deities, reciting other different rituals, and being interrupted by other different times, these are not qualified retreats. Some say that, in addition to these, retreats performed during the four great festivals and solar and lunar eclipses, and retreats that include calculating changes, should also be counted in the number of retreats. In short, in order to be counted in the number of recitations, the essence of a session must be free from all faults of recitation, and only reciting with one-pointed mind is necessary. However, during breaks between sessions, in all activities such as urination and defecation, one should also protect the recitation from interruption as much as possible.
