One also sees the skull and the brain covered. The vajra and bell are also endowed with characteristics, but because there are many here, they are not written. Some say that the damaru and bell should not be played together, because both are wisdom. Although it seems that they have kept in mind the saying, "Wisdom is the sound of the damaru," this is merely a statement of conjecture devoid of analysis. Because that very statement first says, "The form of skillful means is the cymbal, the sound of wisdom is the damaru." Therefore, it explains that the shape of the cymbal is skillful means and its sound is wisdom, thus explaining that skillful means and wisdom are inseparable. This is like the vajra, in which one side of the horns is explained as purifying samsara and the other horns as purifying nirvana, thus establishing skillful means and wisdom. The bell is also explained as: the tongue of the bell is wisdom, half of the vajra is skillful means, the inner cavity is wisdom, and the tongue that propels it becomes skillful means. Therefore, the vajra and bell should not be held together. Furthermore, the father's khatvanga represents wisdom, and when held by the mother, it represents skillful means. Therefore, it is unreasonable for Heruka's third hand to hold the damaru and khatvanga. You have said in the tantras that the yoginis should hold the khatvanga in their right hand and the damaru in their left. Therefore, skillful means and wisdom are temporarily changed according to the power of dependent arising, such as thoughts and needs, and this must be understood, and one should not cling to them like the pillar and vase in the abbreviated teachings. However, in this case of the Blessed Mother, apart from the general vows, it is not absolutely necessary to have a bell for the music. Because the oral instructions do not say to offer praise with the damaru and cymbals during the breaks. In India, yogis also do this during the tsokhorlo. As Je Marpa's tsok song says: "The venerable Naropa, the great pandita, held the vajra and bell in his hands, in the sky about a cubit high, with his right arm extended, he remained in a dancing posture. Other male and female yogis, playing the damaru with their right hands and holding the cymbals in their left hands, were seen playing with a dancing attitude." So it is said. The venerable Tathagata said that at this time he also blesses the five aggregates, twelve ayatanas, and eighteen dhatus, and if you are happy, yourself as the yidam.

The skandha of form, which has existed from the beginning, appears as Vairochana. The skandha of feeling is Vajra Sun. The skandha of perception is Padma Garwang (Lotus Lord of Dance). The skandha of volition is Vajra King. The skandha of consciousness is Vajra Sattva. All the Sugatas become one, glorious Heruka. The eye is the Vajra of Ignorance. The ear is the Vajra of Hatred. The nose is the Vajra of Stinginess. The mouth is the Vajra of Desire. The body is the Vajra of Jealousy. The source of mind is the Vajra of Ishvara (Lord of Power). The earth element is the Falling Mother. The water element is the Killing Mother. The fire element is the Attracting Mother. The wind element is the Mother Who is the Mistress of Dance. The space element is the Lotus-Possessing One. The element of consciousness is Vajra Yogini. Remembering this, one instantly arises as the body of Vajra Yogini and performs the union of gathering and dispersing the assembly field. If one thinks that during the time of the Mother Tantra, one should not remember the purity of the Father, such as Vairochana, that is not the case. In the Sutra of Manifest Enlightenment, it says: "For the five skandhas, of pride, one should generate a good mind. The skandha of form is Vairochana." And so on, this is explained literally. Therefore, the purification of the six skandhas as armor heroes, the six sources as six heroes, and the six elements as six armor heroines is a common practice for both the Father and Mother Tantras. Fourth, the actual practice is divided into two: first, practicing samatha and vipassana separately, and then, when one is somewhat accustomed, practicing samatha and vipassana without separation. The first is also divided into three: Practicing self-generation, practicing front-generation, and dissolving the mandala. The first is divided into two: the activity of samatha and the activity of vipassana. The first is also divided into two: the preliminary accumulation of merit and the main practice of meditation and recitation. The first is: With the preliminary of generating bodhichitta, please the mandala with rituals, and dissolve it into oneself with the three syllables. That is, purify the mouth by tasting the drops of the hand offering on the tongue. If there is a lot of conceptualization, then do as before from the preliminary torma to the interruption. If there is little conceptualization, then it can be accomplished by simply clarifying the protection wheel that was previously meditated on. At the time of auspicious offerings, etc., at this time, the karma vajra makes prostrations and offers a mandala, and with "Please consider, Vajradhara, etc.," encourage samadhi and practice.
