Legs crossed and seated on a comfortable cushion, facing the direction of Orgyen (Uḍḍiyāna), thus explaining the posture and so on. In summary, the activities of the land ritual, erecting the platform, arranging the six mandalas, among these three, the first is the land ritual, including examining the land, inviting the land, seizing the land, and purifying the land, these four aspects. Among them, examining the land is accomplished by the previously mentioned examination of the site, that is, performing the practice in a place where there are no obstacles and all favorable conditions are complete. Regarding inviting the land, from the perspective of appearance, it is not invited from people, but it must have the condition of not being invited by others, inviting from the invisible land deities and local spirits, that is, offering the preliminary torma. Among them, first, sweeping and so on must be done, because all the activities such as the sweeping water of other mandalas must be done here with inner offering, so first the hand offering must be done. So, what is the vessel for performing the hand offering? In the chapter on examining the characteristics of the vessel in the Vinaya Source, it says: "The skull of a woman should not be used." And it says: "Three sections will transform the accomplishment of the practitioner." Therefore, for a man, a skull with three sections or one piece with characteristics should be used. In short, in terms of shape, color, depression, pores, lines, etc., it should avoid the faults mentioned there and possess qualities. Other classifications of skulls, such as bamboo tube shape, round shape, skull castle, two-legged flying bird, goddess residence, etc., should not be used, because those are the doctrines of the heretics. This skull with characteristics is the best of vessels in the Mother Tantra, so there should be no doubts about impurity, etc. In "Manifestation of the Lama," it says: "Conch shells, fish bladders, pearls, all three are produced from water, who would slander the skull that possesses the body of Dharmakaya?" Thus it is said. So, what is the substance for the hand offering? It is the essence of intoxication. In the chapter on intoxication in the Vinaya Source, it says: "Wisdom Vajra Mandala, known as the ocean of milk in space. From the beautiful ocean of milk, merely churning the nectar, the goddess of wine is born from it, she is a woman with the form of desire for daughters." And so on, in order to introduce outsiders, the ancient legend of churning the ocean and producing the goddess of wine, and she becoming the source of joy for all the gods, is combined. From the center of the Mandala, it appears and becomes all rivers.

In the so-called Milk Ocean, it descends like butter and honey. So on and so forth. And it elaborately explains the pure way of how to act. There is no offering other than intoxication; butter lamps and fire offerings are not supreme; without a guru, there is no Dharma; without Dharma, there is no liberation. Other than intoxication, no vows can arise. Thus it is said, and because one cannot increase the realization of hearing, thinking, and meditating, indulging in recklessness is also said to be the cause of falling into hell. The subsequent text of that very scripture also says: Nectar is also this, poison is also this. The mantra practitioner is completely intoxicated by alcohol, craving desires, indulging in sexual affairs, singing wildly, diligently engaging in sexual activities, and becoming extremely confused. So on and so forth. It describes many kinds of alcohol, but if summarized, there are generally four kinds of alcohol. The Great Commentary on the Kalachakra also says: Here, all alcohol is the nature of wisdom, born from honey, or born from grains, or born from trees, or others. And in its tantra, it is said: The nature of wisdom, together with honey, born from sugarcane, born from grains, or born from trees. As it is said, grain alcohol and so on are grain-based alcohol, and with it, one can also include artificial alcohol made from grain flour and so on. Sugarcane alcohol can include all tree alcohol, and it is said that in India, China, and other places, there are many kinds of alcohol that drip from trees. Honey alcohol can include all flower alcohol. Grapes can include all fruit alcohol such as wine. In addition, there are many kinds of alcohol transformed from roots, stems, branches, marrow, sap, and so on, which can also be classified into grains, trees, shrubs, fruits, etc., that is, to which category it belongs, and classified according to what is primary. Taking the essence that can be obtained from those alcohols and mixing it with nectar pills is the substance for what is to be done. Here, during special sadhana times, because there is no fear of worldly slander, one must act with the vows of intoxication. If one indulges in reckless and chaotic behavior in the name of the vow substance, driven by desire, then it is not the practice of any school of Sutra or Tantra. Outside of sadhana, during offerings on other auspicious occasions, if one becomes a Shravaka monk, or the rules of the Sangha, etc.
