It seems that staying in that state is also possible. If the commentator is not impartial, lacks discernment, learning, fortune, and renunciation, he cannot examine. It seems difficult to gather these in the degenerate age. Those actions that seem not to be sacred may have the confidence that they will not harm themselves. Nowadays, in ultimate practice: In the degenerate age, due to the influence of strife, the lama's faults and virtues are mixed. In any case, it is impossible to be without sin. Whoever has more virtues should also examine carefully. The disciples should rely on him. As it is said, seek those who have more virtues, and take the virtuous aspects into your own continuum, and view the faults you see as the manifestation of your own impure karma. Tame the mind with the equality of all dharmas, etc., and do not be without faith. However, it seems necessary not to let the faults stain your own continuum and to correctly understand how to practice the path. Similarly, householders should not take monastics as lamas, and even if there is a monastic Vajra holder, he should not do consecrations and be the chief of the gathering, etc. When householders are content with offering to each other, the lineage of the Three Jewels will be cut off, and the Sangha will be despised. Moreover, that householder Vajra holder will be attached to wealth and ashamed of begging for alms, and will end up not truly renouncing. Furthermore, wearing white clothes is the behavior of barbarians (kllAkllAh, barbaric people). Some monastics, when expelled from the Sangha, are stripped of their robes and dressed in the marks of householders, such as white clothes. As it is said: If householders live in monasteries, servants, farmers, and merchants, are fools who sell the Dharma as merchandise, they are not Vajra holders on the land. And: Unless one has attained realization, a king should not take a householder as a lama. And: Unless one has attained realization, if the teacher is a householder, when he receives offerings, then he will not respect the Buddha, Dharma, and Sangha. And: The consecration of temples, etc., should be done by those with signs. If there are three people in one place, do not let a householder wearing white clothes do it. And: Through begging and red robes, those who are ashamed of their evil deeds, through adultery, prostration, and offerings, they are the Buddhas.

It says: The bhumi and path will decline. And, when red clothes are seen, sinful people will become angry. Those who like the teachings of heretics, Buddhists will then prefer white clothes. And, in the Great Commentary, it says: The Buddhist teachings do not always wear white clothes, just as in the land of Manjushri (འཇམ་དཔལ་), in the monastery, if monks and novices break their vows, they will be given white clothes, their maroon robes will be taken away, and they must be expelled from the monastery. And, if a Vajra-holding monk exists but relies on those who have the opportunity to harm, this is a great insult to the Sangha, and it will surely cause the distinctions of the Sugata to decline. So it is said. The reason for mentioning white clothes is that in the noble land of India, white is the main symbol of householders. In Tibet, householders also wear clothes of all colors, and similarly, because the teachings are declining, many bald or haired householders also hold the symbols of renunciates. Because they have not taken vows, all of them are called householders. In Tibet, taking and keeping vows is the distinguishing factor, otherwise it seems impossible to distinguish by symbols. Similarly, in order to protect food, monks listen to householders explaining the four Vinaya divisions, and householders debate the Vinaya among themselves. Some monks, if they obtain the position of a householder's servant, consider it the fulfillment of their wishes, coveting those positions, and insulting those who have not obtained them. Similarly, it seems that the superiority or inferiority of Vajra Masters is determined based on reasons such as lineage, wealth, property, residence, and fame. Therefore, although these categories of Dharma are not very necessary in Tibet at this time, it is merely to ensure that in future lives, one will be born in a pure land where the Sutra and Tantra teachings exist properly, and become a cause for attaining supreme accomplishment. If one thinks that there are no supreme householder Vajra-holders such as the Kalki of Shambhala, it is because wisdom is older than them, and if all Vajra-holders with symbols are not like that, then whether a householder Vajra-holder has attained the bhumis or not, they are clairvoyant.
