Arrange the painted images of words and other offerings, and as a preliminary practice, accumulate the accumulations of merit and wisdom. Then, in the realm of space within the protection circle, contemplate the triangular dharma origin arising from the syllable "E" (藏文:ཨེ,梵文天城体:ऐ,梵文罗马拟音:ai,汉语字面意思:埃), which is expressed by the sound of "Bhaga," and within it, also meditate on the lotus arising from "Pam" (藏文:པཾ,梵文天城体:प,梵文罗马拟音:paṃ,汉语字面意思:班) and the various vajras arising from "Hum" (藏文:ཧཱུྃ,梵文天城体:हूँ,梵文罗马拟音:hūṃ,汉语字面意思:吽). In the center of that, what is to be meditated upon is: the meaning of successively meditating on earth, water, fire, and wind, etc., as indicated by the dharma symbol—the wheel, and by "how it was before," "the deities," "how," and "the very nature of arising." According to the inner meaning: the realm of space is the mudra lotus, Bhaga is the wisdom of the four joys, contemplation is the union of skillful means and wisdom, the wheel is its bliss, how it was before is the nature of self-awareness, the deities are bodhicitta, and how it arises is its melting bliss, as explained below. Here, the wise and accomplished Tashi Namgyal says: Here, most people explain the wheel as the palace, how it was before as the stages of arising, and how the deities arise as the fifteen goddesses, and they explain this as a general outline of the generation stage, which is not well seen. Because the dharma symbol is not spoken of as the literal meaning of the word, and immediately after that, the meaning of the words spoken after the symbol is explained is stretched far away. The second point is: the wheel is earth, and water is before, how it is suitable is enjoyment, the deities are the great wind, and how the meditator arises, the wheel is born from the dharma origin. Thus it is said, the wheel spoken of above by the dharma symbol is the mandala of earth, arising from Lam (藏文:ལྃ,梵文天城体:लँ,梵文罗马拟音:laṃ,汉语字面意思:朗), marked with a square vajra. Above that, the mandala of water is indicated by "before," arising from Vam (藏文:བཾ,梵文天城体:वँ,梵文罗马拟音:vaṃ,汉语字面意思:旺), round, marked with a vase. Above that, the mandala of fire of enjoyment, indicated by "how it is suitable" or "how it is suitable for," arising from Ram (藏文:རཾ,梵文天城体:रँ,梵文罗马拟音:raṃ,汉语字面意思:让), triangular, marked with flames. Above that, the mandala of the great wind, indicated by "the deities," arising from Yam (藏文:ཡཾ,梵文天城体:यँ,梵文罗马拟音:yaṃ,汉语字面意思:扬), bow-shaped, marked with banners. Above that, the white wheel arising from Bhrum (藏文:བྷྲཱུྃ,梵文天城体:भ्रूँ,梵文罗马拟音:bhrūṃ,汉语字面意思:仲), having the nature of Vairochana, should also be meditated upon. The "how" above indicates the nature of emptiness of the meditator.

Having meditated on the radiant Nada that appears only in the mind, the term "arising" mentioned above refers to the dependent wheel of the palace that arises from the Dharmadhatu and is stimulated by the light of Nada, arising from the melting of the generation stage and the wheels. This is a non-literal explanation. Regarding the symbols of the four elements mentioned above, Shantipa explains with reason: The wheel refers to earth, because it is said to be the mandala of the Great Lord. Water is indicated by "before," because the water mandala is before the golden mandala. What is called "how it should be" refers to fire, because intelligence here is true wisdom, and it is consistent with fire in its clear nature. The term "of the gods" refers to wind, because when the parents of the lower desire realm gods have intercourse, semen does not arise, only wind arises, and the gods are born from this. In the inner aspect, the four wheels are said to be the four elements of earth, etc., or the touch of the union of skillful means and wisdom is the hard earth, the moist bodhicitta is water, the heat of movement is fire, and the movement is wind. The experiencer of this is the practitioner. Self-born Foot also said: Why meditate in that order? This is explained according to the order of the formation of the inner world. The inner world is formed in the same way at the time of formation. At the time of accomplishment by means of previous karma, etc., the parents first experience the hard touch as earth, the moist as water, the warm as fire, the moving as wind, and the pleasure as the space element. At the time of abiding, the square earth mandala is measured, the round belly is water, the triangular chest is fire, the crescent forehead is wind, and the crown of the head is the wheel. Another explanation is that it corresponds to the formation of the external world: the feet, the crossroads, the navel, and the heart. These four are wind, fire, water, and earth. Here, there are many inconsistencies in the explanations of the Indian treatises, and most of Tibet follows Maitreya and Manjushri, and some repeat the views of Ocean-Born Foot. This is as Shantipa said, because the words of the tantra are understood directly and there is no need for distortion, so it is very good.
