It is bliss, which becomes the meaning of the union of bliss and emptiness. The second is: Vajra essence, great compassion, liberation through the nature of things themselves, bound by the bonds of things, liberation comes from fully knowing that. Also, by fully knowing the absence of things, one becomes a wise person who cultivates things. By fully knowing the absence of things, one should cultivate Heruka in this way. It is said that if we explain it only according to the explicit meaning of the generation stage, then we call it Vajra essence, great compassion, and by meditating on the nature of form and other things as the form of a deity, we are liberated from ordinary thoughts, and we are bound by the bonds of attachment to those things as real. By fully knowing that the aggregates of form and other things, such as Rupavajri and other deities, are the same, we are liberated. If we examine and analyze those deities as having no nature of things, and fully know that they are not true, then we can cultivate the things of the deity as illusory, and that is a wise person. If we fully know that the Suchness of wisdom or the co-emergent mudra and other things are also of the nature of no-thingness, then we should cultivate Heruka in this way, appearing but without self-nature, like an illusion. According to the general meaning of the definitive meaning of the completion stage, Heruka, in whom the ground, path, and fruit are inseparable, first takes the form of the seed syllable E-vam (Tibetan: ཨེ་ཝཾ, Devanagari: एवं, IAST: evam, literal meaning: thus) as the cause generated by the completion stage. By recognizing the nature of one thing, all things of the nature of skillful means and wisdom are gathered together, and by using them in union, one is liberated. However, beings are bound by grasping the five aggregates as self, etc., and are bound by not knowing their nature. If one fully knows that it is free from elaboration, then one is liberated from bondage. If one understands the absence of things, and also realizes it as illusory, then one can perfect the six profound perfections, and it becomes the cultivation of the thing of no-thingness, so one is a wise person without defilements. By cultivating the thing of no-thingness, which appears but is not real, such as smoke, etc., one will manifest the actual Heruka, so one should cultivate in this way. According to the hidden meaning, Heruka is the co-emergent wisdom that has that meaning. First,

Meditating with focus. Liberation through objects is the yoga of channels, energies, and bindus. Being bound by objects is the bliss of skillful means not grasped by wisdom. Fully understanding it is the inseparability of the emptiness of objects and the great bliss of the subject. Understanding the absence of objects is also knowing the experience of bliss and emptiness as free from elaboration. Transforming objects into meditation is when all appearances and existence arise as the nature of the union of bliss and emptiness, the great seal. The rest is as before. The way to apply these to the pith instructions of practice is to follow what the previous ones have said. Here, fearing many words, it is not elaborated, but others should also know. Second, the completion stage has three parts: the nature of co-emergent, the basis of that wisdom, and explaining the means to manifest it. The first is: In the body dwells great wisdom, All thoughts are completely abandoned, Pervading all things, The body dwells, not born from the body. Thus it is said. Regarding this, according to the fourfold heart essence commentary and in accordance with the intention of Lord Marpa, as clarified by glorious Rangjung Dorje, the body of the three realms arising from the appearance of the co-emergent wisdom of the outer dharmadhatu, or the inner aggregates, elements, and sense bases, or the body of channels, energies, and bindus with the three perceptions of deity nature, or the body of the mandala of the deity of the generation stage, the co-emergent wisdom dwells. Its nature is that all dharmas are not separate from the mind, and the nature of the mind is its own awareness, self-awareness is bliss, and bliss is established as the nature of freedom from elaboration. The mind is increased by awareness, etc., the three increases, the three exhalations, the dharmas appearing in various ways are the nirmanakaya, clear awareness is the sambhogakaya, freedom from elaboration is the dharmakaya, and bliss is the svabhavikakaya, dwelling in the nature of the four kayas. Bliss is emptiness, and emptiness is greatly increased by bliss. Thus, that great wisdom dwells in the body. It has three characteristics: when realizing all dharmas as the body of the mind, the thoughts of external objects; when realizing the mind as self-awareness, the thoughts of grasping and being grasped of red and white; when realizing self-awareness as bliss, the thoughts of suffering and equanimity; when realizing bliss as freedom from elaboration, attachment to objects.
