It is said, "Not through expressive words, but through clear appearances in the realm of the senses, is the nature of naked seeing liberation." Also, as stated in 'The Lamp that Illuminates,' "These various appearances do not arise from actions or meditation; they are inherently present in the ground." As it is said, the spontaneously arisen, unmade, and inseparable three bodies, the mandala of clear light, are directly seen. Therefore, strive in meditation. Thus it is said. Secondly, among the six categories mentioned in the treasure texts, the first, the White Guidance, is the yoga of daytime, as mentioned above. Furthermore, the so-called Vajrasattva Mirror involves focusing sunlight on a crystal. The clarity within the crystal light is an example of awareness residing within the heart. The appearance of rainbow light outward due to the condition of sunlight is an example of awareness radiance emerging outward based on the key points of the doors and the body. The essence of appearance is emptiness, and the self-radiance of emptiness is appearance. Understanding these two as inseparable is the union of the nature of the expanse and awareness, wisdom and form. Thus, there are introductions and so on. Secondly, the Black Guidance, the yoga of darkness, has two aspects: the dark room and the ocean seal. Firstly, there are two ways to enter the dark room: initially entering the dark room and, as appearances increase, relying on the enhancing daytime yoga; and initially seeing appearances through daytime yoga and then re-entering the dark room. Currently, most practices follow the latter method, and its practical application is not elaborated here due to the fear of writing, but it should be understood elsewhere. The ocean seal involves sitting in the posture of a sage, raising both hands onto the knees, and slightly pressing the edges of the eyes with the thumb and forefinger, or gently pressing the eyelids closed over the eyeballs. The self-radiance of the five wisdoms, letters of five colors, and so on, appear like the *wal* plant, like a wish-fulfilling tree, and uncertain things like the shapes of creatures, stupas, sun, and moon, as well as many definite forms. When the hands are released and one looks, five-colored rainbows shine intensely within a distance of about a *dpag tshad* (a measure of distance), and rays of light equal to the number of atoms intermingle. Look and meditate on these appearances until they disappear. If they disappear, press again and meditate. Thus, strive

Having practiced diligently for about seven weeks, it manifests without the effort of the thumb, which is accomplishment. The third is the yellow guidance: At night, gaze intently at the center of a clear moon, then squint your eyes, skillfully guide the light, and meditate. All darkness becomes the self-nature of white light, in all directions appear illusory forms, and bindus move back and forth like a string of beads. The fourth is the red guidance, exemplified by the center of the sun, as described above. The fifth is the variegated guidance: Cover your eyes with a thin black silk cloth and gaze at the center of the sun. Initially, countless bindus the size of fish eyes will appear. Gradually, the light, bindus, subtle bindus, and so on, will become larger and larger. The sixth is the fire guidance: First, squint and gaze at a single butter lamp, guiding the light and bindus well. Then gaze at two, then at about three. When the eyes become blurred, turn your back to the butter lamp and open your eyes wide in the darkness. A red color exactly like the butter lamp will appear. Then various colors such as white, yellow, red, green, blue, and indigo will appear, and eventually there will be no difference between looking with your eyes closed and looking with your eyes open. In this state, relax your mind, and the butter lamp, the viewer, and the light are inseparable, which is the Dharmakaya, the single bindu. It also transforms into a great expanse of the light of truth. Third, explaining the supporting instructions has four points: Establishing the foundation on the three immovables, measuring with the three steadinesses, fixing with the three attainments, and demonstrating the liberation degree of the four postures. First, establishing the foundation on the three immovables: The three sitting postures of the body should be kept still. That is, if the body does not move, the channels do not move; if the channels do not move, the eyes do not move; if the eyes do not move, the prana does not move; if the prana does not move, the mind does not move. Thus, the moving thoughts will be cut off, and awareness will abide in an immovable state. The three ways of looking with the eyes should also be kept still. That is, the key point of awareness is the channel, the key point of the channel is the door, and the key point of the door is the lamp. If the channel does not move, the eyes do not move; if the eyes do not move, the lamp does not move. Thus, if the mind does not move, conceptual thoughts will not arise, and there is the necessity of the inseparability of emptiness and awareness. Awareness should abide immovably in the direct perception of the appearance of clear light. That is, the mind
