Like a mirror, the wisdom of the Lord manifests as unobstructed luminosity, unblemished by grasping. By allowing it to arise and dissolve naturally, the appearances of the four visions become increasingly clear and stable. Secondly, measuring with the three abidings: Through familiarity with the inseparability of space and wisdom, the measure of stability arises as the three abidings. When the wind that moves external appearances ceases, space and wisdom abide without coming or going. When the wind that moves the internal aggregates ceases, the body abides without movement. When the wind that moves secret thoughts ceases, conceptual thoughts abide without the possibility of fluctuation. In this context, there are two ways to measure: by dreams and by the signs that appear in the three doors of body, speech, and mind. For those with great diligence, dreams dissolve into space and cease. For those of middling diligence, dreams appear as luminosity. For those of lesser diligence, dreams are recognized as dreams. The signs that appear in the three doors: Each of the four visions has three signs, totaling twelve, which are signs of the direct manifestation of reality. The body remains still, like a turtle placed in a wooden trough, without activity or movement. Speech is like that of a mute, unwilling to speak. The mind is like a bird caught in a net, appearing to scatter but actually being held fast. Signs of increasing experience: The body is like that of a person afflicted with illness, devoid of grooming and adornment. Speech is like that of a madman, speaking nonsensically. The mind is like that of a person poisoned, resolute in not turning back from the three realms. Signs of the measure of wisdom being reached: The body is like an elephant sinking into a swamp, transcending the five elements in an instant. Speech is like that of a child in a pottery jar, whatever is said benefits others. The mind is like that of a person cured of leprosy, having gained the certainty of not returning to samsara. Signs of the exhaustion of reality: The body is like a corpse in a charnel ground, unafraid even when surrounded by executioners. Speech is like an echo in a valley, the source of words exhausted, so it repeats the words of others. The mind is like mist in a mirror, the accumulation of habitual patterns not appearing for an instant, and enlightenment is attained. Thirdly, driving the stake of the three attainments: First, obtaining freedom over birth: Because the substantial body dissolves into light, if one acts for the benefit of sentient beings, by focusing awareness on one's own fingers, all appearances revert to their own nature. One benefits sentient beings with forms like reflections of the moon in water. Imbuing sentient beings such as humans with awareness.

If the five inexpiable sins are committed anywhere, they will also appear here, and Buddhahood will be attained in the state of self-purification. Second, gaining autonomy in entering: If there is no intention, by placing awareness in its own state, Buddhahood will be attained without appearing in that very state. Third, gaining autonomy over the winds and mind: Because the winds and mind are workable, all the qualities of the winds will arise. When other sentient beings die, by inserting awareness into them, even if the five inexpiable sins have been committed, they will be purified and Buddhahood will be attained together with oneself, because of the key that there is no good or bad in karma. Moreover, even for material objects, there will be unimpeded penetration, and unobstructed clairvoyance will arise. Fourth, showing the degree of liberation of the four confidences: The two upper confidences are that even if the qualities of the Three Jewels are heard, there is no expectation of attaining them, and no fear of not attaining them, because it has been realized that there is no Buddha other than self-awareness. The two lower confidences are that even if the suffering and lifespan of the six realms are heard, there is no expectation of not falling into samsara, and no fear of falling into samsara, because it has been known that self-awareness is originally without delusion, and thus it is certain that those who wander in samsara are false. The necessity of these is that the purposes of each are accomplished temporarily, and ultimately the realization of the higher ones will be perfected. These have completed the explanation of the spontaneously accomplished Tögal guidance sequence. Fifth, explaining the concluding meaning of the guidance sequence, in five points: the practical instructions for practice, the norms for interacting with dharma friends, the interruption and transfer of the path, the manner of liberation through practice, and the classification and summary of the guidance. The first point is: Those who wish to enter this profound path, in the preliminary stage, should strive to make signs arise for each individual, and exert effort in accumulating merit, purifying obscurations, and other profound types of dharma as much as possible. In the generation stage, until stable clarity is obtained, meditation should be the main focus, and after clarity is obtained, the number of recitations should be completed. In the completion stage, the path of means, first in the stage of tummo suffering, diligence should be exerted without sparing the body. In the middle, in the stage of tummo desire, without being controlled by attachment, it should be blended into the realm of emptiness. Finally, in the stage of tummo bliss, without being satisfied by it, the melting experience should be made autonomous in the unchanging. The essence of practice is the state of Trekchö, Tögal, union, and the inseparability of dharmadhatu and awareness.
