Because there is no clinging there, and without clinging, there is no consciousness either. As it is said, therefore, for these six consciousnesses, forms and so on, which are included by the external objects, appear as objects; the eye faculty and so on, which are included by the internal sentient beings, appear as the basis; and the consciousness that clings to self, and the mental factors that discriminate between taking and rejecting objects. In short, all the phenomena that appear, are these only mind, and not caused by other causes? If you ask this, since the self has not been established from the beginning, it is also impossible for the self to create it. Without self, others are also unreasonable, so without others and the two, the two do not produce it either. Without self and others, the causeless cannot produce it either, as it is said in the Root Wisdom: Not from self, not from other, not from both, not from causeless. Nowhere, nowhere, is there ever birth. So it is said. The second is: Therefore, it is only mind. So it is said. Because of the reasons mentioned above, the all-knowing Buddhas said in all the Mahayana sutras, especially in the Avatamsaka Sutra: The mind is like a painter, able to paint all the worlds, the five aggregates are all born from it, there is no dharma that is not created. And so on, immeasurable and boundless. All the dharmas of samsara are the self-image of the mind's delusion, and all the dharmas of nirvana are the nature of the mind that is free from the defilements of the grasped and the grasper. Therefore, in all the sutras, tantras, and treatises, it is said that all dharmas are only mind. As the great Brahmin said: Mind alone is the seed of all, to those who crave and transcend sorrow, it bestows the fruits of desire, I pay homage to the mind like a wish-fulfilling jewel. And so on. In the same way, the order of practice in the stage of the path is also, first relying on the contemplation of only consciousness, thereby realizing that there is no external object that is different from the mind, thereby generating non-dependence on external objects. Without the grasped, there is no grasper, relying on non-dependence on external objects, thereby generating non-dependence on the clinging to only consciousness.

Therefore, it is established in its own nature. Thus it is said. Likewise, truly realizing the state of non-establishment of grasper and grasped is realizing the Dharmadhatu. As the Ornament says: 'Having realized with wisdom that there is nothing other than mind, then one also realizes that mind itself is non-existent. Having realized that these two, wisdom and its object, are non-existent, one abides in the Dharmadhatu, which is devoid of these two.' Thus it is said. Fourth, explaining the eight aggregates of the cause and condition of delusion, in two parts: brief explanation, and detailed explanation. The first is: 'From this' and so on. Thus it is said, thus it is said, since it is said that all of Samsara and Nirvana are mind, then how is the true nature of mind? First, it is very important to know the cause and condition of this Samsara, and how these two arise dependently. The way of that is: the six aggregates of consciousness, the afflicted mind, and the Alaya consciousness. As it is said in the stainless Sutras, Tantras, and Shastras. That Alaya consciousness acts as the cause and condition, and the seven aggregates become the result, from which the karma and all the sufferings of the three realms ripen separately. Also, the imprints of those are placed in the Alaya consciousness, and the power of the Alaya consciousness is generated, so the Alaya consciousness is also called the result of the seven aggregates. As it is said in the Yoga Tantra Vajrasekhara: 'The seed, the all-arising Alaya, is considered the nature of outer and inner.' Thus it is said. Incidentally, what should be known is the dependent origination of Nirvana: the stainless Dharmakaya realm, with the power that it currently possesses, through the condition of hearing the Buddha's teachings, which appear as external objects, can make the Dharmakaya realm exist in oneself, and one can also attain it oneself, and wisdom arises that knows that it possesses great qualities, and one develops faith in that place. Relying on faith, desire arises. From desire, diligence arises that necessarily enters. Relying on that, accumulating the two accumulations, the Dharmakaya arises that is free from defilements and completely pure. As the Uttaratantra says: 'This inconceivable realm, with existence and self-like, one can attain, and attaining such benefits, possessing such qualities, because of faith, desire arises. Aspiration, diligence, mindfulness, and meditation, and the vessel of qualities such as wisdom. The Bodhicitta is always near to them. From then on, by always being near, victorious'
