In order to embrace those with the lineage, this treatise, the Uttaratantra, is taught with meaning. Secondly: Just as with lamps, electricity, jewels, the sun and moon, those with eyes can see by relying on them, likewise, meaning, words, dharma, and the light of eloquence, relying on the capable one, this is well explained. It is said. For example, just as relying on the external conditions of the light of a lamp, the light of electricity, the light of a jewel, the light of the sun, and the light of the moon, an individual with clear visual consciousness as an internal condition sees forms without distortion and shows them to others as well, so too, the external condition is knowing the self and general characteristics of all dharmas, truly knowing each meaning, knowing all words, truly knowing each word, knowing all names, truly knowing each dharma, and knowing all knowable things without obstruction, truly knowing each eloquence. Thus, by radiating the light of the fourfold true knowledge, the speech of the capable one, who clearly knows all knowable things, is relied upon. As an internal condition, with the eye of wisdom, the Tathagatagarbha is directly seen, and this treatise, the Uttaratantra, is well explained. Thirdly: Whatever is meaningful and connected with the Dharma, speech that eliminates all afflictions from the three realms, whatever demonstrates the benefit of peace, that is the speech of a sage, the opposite is otherwise. It is said. Whatever speech, the object to be expressed is endowed with great meaning, and the expressing words are closely related to the stainless Dharma, and the function is to eliminate all the afflictions of the three realms, and the result is to lead them to Nirvana by showing the benefits of peaceful Nirvana. Whatever speech is endowed with these four special qualities is the speech of the great sage, the Buddha, the words of the Victorious One, and what is contrary to that is other than the Buddha's words and should not be adopted. Fourthly: Whatever is spoken by a mindful person who is solely under the influence of the Victorious One's teachings, without distraction, and is in accordance with the path to liberation, that too should be accepted with the crown of the head, like the words of a sage. It is said. The commentaries on its meaning

I, with a single mind devoted to the cause of the Buddha's teachings, Writing and speaking, the wise, without distraction, explain the meaning of the Buddha's words. The pure and excellent words that accord with the path to liberation, Should also be accepted and upheld like the teachings of the Sage Buddha, Because the reasons are the same. The fifth point is: Because there is no one in this world more knowledgeable in Dharma than the Buddha, All that is supreme, only the wisdom of perfect knowledge can know, others cannot know. Therefore, do not tamper with the sutras established by the Sage himself, Because destroying the Buddha's teachings will also harm the true Dharma. Thus it is said. Because, there is no one more knowledgeable in Dharma than the perfectly enlightened Buddha in this world. For all that should be known, and all the supreme truths that exist as they are, only the wisdom that directly realizes in all ways, truly and without inversion, can know, and not what others besides the Buddha can know. Therefore, do not arbitrarily tamper with the sutras established by the great Sage Buddha himself in a direct and indirect way, do not say that the provisional meaning is definitive, and the definitive meaning is provisional. If you do so, you will destroy the sacred Dharma of the perfectly enlightened Buddha, which will also harm the sacred Dharma and commit the great sin of abandoning the Dharma. The sixth part has three points: defining the abandonment of Dharma, determining not to abandon the profound Dharma, and explaining that abandoning Dharma is more serious than the five heinous crimes. The first part has two points: advising to abandon the cause of transmission, and the actual abandonment of Dharma with ten causes. The first point is: Those who are deluded by afflictions, slander the noble ones, Disparage what they say, all because of clinging to views. Therefore, one should not associate with those who have clinging views, A clean cloth changes color, but is not stained by oil. Thus it is said. Those who are obscured by the nature of ignorance, deluded by afflictions, slander the noble ones towards special objects, and disparage the Dharma they speak, all of which is because of clinging to their own sectarian views.
