Dwelling within the lotus. (Tibetan) The Tathagata blazing with a thousand marks, (Tibetan) seen by those with immaculate divine eyes, (Tibetan) is brought forth from the lotus petal's enclosure. (Tibetan) Thus it is said. Therefore, the example shown is: For example, (Tibetan) within a closed lotus that is unpleasant in color and scent, (Tibetan) resides the body of the Tathagata blazing with a thousand excellent marks, (Tibetan) some people with the clear knowledge of immaculate divine eyes, seeing this, (Tibetan) just as the Buddha's body is brought forth from the lotus petal's enclosure. The second is: (Tibetan) Likewise, even for beings dwelling in the Avici hell, (Tibetan) with the Buddha's eye, seeing their own nature, (Tibetan) without obscuration, the compassion abiding at the edge of samsara, (Tibetan) the possessor liberates them from obscuration. Thus it is said. Therefore, the meaning it symbolizes, along with its function, is: (Tibetan) Just like that example, The Sugatas, with the wisdom eye of the Buddha, see that even beings dwelling in the Avici hell possess their own sentient beings' clear nature, the Sugata-garbha. (Tibetan) The possessor of wisdom, compassion, and activity, without obscuration and abiding until the end of samsara, liberates those to be tamed from sudden obscurations. The third is: (Tibetan) As the Sugata is in an unappealing closed lotus, (Tibetan) His body dwells within it, seen by the divine eye, like cutting the petals, (Tibetan) Afflictions like attachment and hatred obscure it, seeing beings have the complete Buddha-nature, (Tibetan) With compassion, the Thubpa thus destroys that obscuration. Thus it is said. The meaning of the example shown above is again well-applied and clarified. For example, (Tibetan) in the center of an unappealing closed lotus, dwells the body of the Sugata, (Tibetan) some with divine eyes see the Tathagata's body dwelling within that lotus, and in order to extract it, they cut the lotus petals, (Tibetan) just as the complete Buddha-nature, obscured by the enclosure of defilements such as desire and hatred, exists in all beings, (Tibetan) therefore, for those beings who do not understand this, by the power of immeasurable compassion, (Tibetan) the Thubpa Buddhas, like removing the lotus petals that obscure the Buddha's body, destroy those sudden obscurations through their activity.

Done. The second example has three parts: example, meaning, and combined explanation. The first is: "Just as a swarm of creatures surrounds honey, a wise person seeks its meaning, sees it, and skillfully separates it from the swarm of creatures." It is said, "How is the example?" The honey that dwells in the midst of a swarm of bee-like creatures is sought after by a person who is discerning and skilled in means. Having seen that the honey is in the midst of the bees, he uses means such as sending smoke to completely separate the honey from the swarm of creatures and obtains the honey. The second is: "The great sage, with his all-knowing eye, sees that the realm of potential is like honey, and completely eliminates its obscurations, which are like bees." It is said, "The great sage, the Buddha, with his all-knowing eye of Dharma, sees that the realm of awareness, immersed in the husk of afflictions, is like honey surrounded by bees, and that all sentient beings possess this. He manifests the Dharmakaya directly, showing the path to completely eliminate the obscurations that obscure its realization, which are like bees." The third is: "Just as honey is obscured by hundreds of thousands of billions of creatures, the honey-seeking person removes those bees and does the work of honey as he desires, so too, the knowledge of the absence of outflows that exists in embodied beings is like the essence of bees. The Victorious One, skilled in destroying afflictions, which are like bees, is like the honey-seeking person skilled in means." It is said, "How is it?" When honey is obscured by hundreds of thousands of billions of bee-like creatures, the honey-seeking person, skilled in means, removes those bees through skillful means and does the work of honey as he desires. Similarly, the knowledge of the absence of outflows that exists in sentient beings, the bliss-essence immersed in the stainless husk, is like honey surrounded by bees. Therefore, the Victorious One, skilled in destroying the afflictions that obscure the realm, which are like bees, is just like the honey-seeking person skilled in means.
