Just as a bee, a creature with attachment, becomes extremely agitated with anger when other creatures take away its honey, and stings with its mouth, causing pain. Similarly, when the habitual tendencies of the affliction of anger increase, and anger manifests, it also causes the hearts of oneself and others to experience the pain of being stung. Therefore, the habitual tendency of anger is like a bee. For example, just as the essence of grains such as rice is obscured by the outer chaff and husks, making it invisible. Similarly, the essence of the Tathāgatagarbha (梵文,Tathāgatagarbha,Tathāgatagarbha,如来藏) , the Dharmadhātu (梵文,Dharmadhātu,Dharmadhātu,法界) , the naturally luminous meaning, is also obscured by habitual tendencies of ignorance and delusion, which are like eggshells, making it invisible. Therefore, the habitual tendency of delusion is said to be like chaff. The second is: Just as impurity is unpleasant, Similarly, for those attached to desires, Because of relying on the cause of desire, All arising is like impurity. It is said. For example, just as an impure object is an unpleasant and repulsive place, similarly, for those attached to the desire realm, relying on desirable qualities and so on is the cause of many misdeeds. Therefore, all arising of the three poisons of affliction, that is, strong manifestations, are like a great impure mass, a place to be disgusted and weary of. Therefore, the manifestation of the three poisons is said to be like impurity. The third is: Just as when wealth is obscured, One does not know the treasure and does not obtain it, Similarly, the self-born wisdom of beings, Is obscured by the earth of ignorance's habitual tendencies. It is said. For example, just as when a great treasure of inexhaustible wealth is obscured and hidden by much earth, the poor do not know that there is wealth and cannot obtain the treasure. Similarly, for beings who are like the poor, the manifestation of self-born wisdom, which possesses inexhaustible qualities, is obscured by the earth of ignorance's habitual tendencies and cannot be seen. Therefore, that which is encompassed by the habitual tendencies of ignorance is described as being like earth. The fourth is: Just as sprouts and so on gradually grow, thereby cutting the outer shell of the seed. Similarly, with seeing reality

will be reversed. (Because) associated with the noble path, those who have destroyed the root of the view of the perishable collection, the objects to be abandoned by the wisdom of the path of meditation, are shown to be like tattered clothes. It is said. How is it? Just as the shoots and trunks of trees gradually grow, thus gradually cutting off the shells of the seeds. Similarly, by gradually seeing the suchness of the ultimate truth of the realm of phenomena, the afflictions to be abandoned by seeing will be gradually reversed. As it is said, what is to be abandoned by seeing is like the skin of a fruit. Associated with the noble path, that is, the manifestation of the nature of the four truths, from the view of the perishable collection that clings to the five aggregates as self and what belongs to self, the root or main part of what should be abandoned has been abandoned by the path of seeing, and what exists in the continuum of the Arhats, which has already manifested its nature, and what should be abandoned by the wisdom of the path of meditation, is the remainder of the gross exhaustion, or like tattered clothes with dirt, as it is shown, therefore it is said that what should be abandoned by meditation is like tattered clothes. The fifth is: The defilements that depend on the seven grounds are like the defilements of the womb. Like being free from the womb, the aspect of the maturation of non-conceptual wisdom. It is said. The defilements that depend on the impure seventh ground are like the defilements of the womb because they obscure what is to be seen and involve effort. Like being free from the womb, being completely liberated from those defilements, starting from the eighth ground, there is no need for effort, and the non-conceptual wisdom that is naturally accomplished manifests, just as the wheel-turning king matures and is born. Therefore, it is said that the defilements that depend on the seventh ground are like the womb. The sixth is: The subtle defilements that follow the three grounds should be known as mud-covered clothes, and the great sovereign's vajra-like samadhi will destroy them. It is said. The subtle defilements that follow the three pure grounds can be abandoned without effort, so it should be known as a golden image covered with a little mud. That is also destroyed by the antidote, the vajra-like samadhi of the great sovereigns.
