It is said, "In the stainless state, there is manifest consciousness, and that itself is stainless wisdom. Because there is no distinction, like a lamp, the qualities of light, warmth, and color are the same." This means that for the naturally pure state, the Sugata-garbha, the five initial manifest consciousnesses destroy the darkness of opposing forces, and stainless wisdom obstructs obscurations. For the stainless abandonment and realization, the qualities of distinction are the same because of the illumination of light, and the general qualities are the same. Just as the three characteristics of a lamp are inseparable, these seven non-learning qualities are inseparable from the realm. For example, the light, warmth, and color of a lamp, and their inseparable existence, have the same qualities. Therefore, the seven non-learning qualities possess the fruit of the realm, which is the possession of the fruit. Fourth, regarding the meaning of entering, there are two: briefly stating the reason, and explaining the reason in detail. The first is: "Ordinary beings, noble ones, and perfect Buddhas, enter into the distinction of suchness. Seeing that nature, they reveal this essence of the Victorious One to sentient beings." This means that from the entry of the three distinctions of suchness—the suchness of ordinary beings, the suchness of noble ones, and the suchness of perfect Buddhas—the omniscient one who directly sees that nature clearly reveals the Victorious One, the Tathagata-garbha, the naturally pure Dharmadhatu, to sentient beings who are to be tamed and have the fortune. The second is: "Ordinary beings are inverted, those who see the truth are reversed, the Tathagata is as it is, non-inverted and without elaboration." This means that there are three distinctions in the way wisdom enters: children and ordinary beings grasp at permanence, so their perceptions, minds, and views enter in an inverted way; noble ones who see the four truths reverse from that inversion, that is, they enter by abandoning the manifest activity of grasping at permanence; the Tathagata is one who has abandoned the two obscurations, so they enter in a way that is as it is, non-inverted and without elaboration. Thus, relying on the three types of individuals as the basis, they rely on the basis—the Dharmadhatu, suchness.

It also transforms into three states. From here onwards, understand the meaning of entering in four ways, and also understand the meaning explained in other ways. Fifth, regarding the meaning of the state, there are two: the way of naming in three states; and the way of summarizing six meanings with three names. The first is: impure, unpurified-purified, and, extremely pure in order, sentient beings, bodhisattvas, and, thus gone ones are called. Thus it is said, the realm of ultimate truth, the essence of the Tathagatagarbha, is in a slightly impure state with only momentary defilements; and with all that is to be abandoned by the path of seeing and meditation, for the unpurified, it is in a state of purification in a corresponding manner; and the state of the two obscurations being extremely pure, in order, it is expressed and indicated by the three different names of sentient beings, bodhisattvas, and thus gone ones. If there are three ways of entering like this, then, in order to eliminate the doubt about whether there are different kinds of distinctions in suchness, this treatise is taught. The second is: the meaning of essence, etc., these six summarize, the realm is indicated by three names in three states. Thus it is said, with the meaning of essence, etc., the meaning of cause, the meaning of result, the meaning of action, the meaning of having, and the meaning of entering, these six meanings summarize, the realm of naturally pure, which has been explained in detail above, in the three states of impure, unpurified-purified, and extremely pure, it is only named by the three names of sentient beings, bodhisattvas, and thus gone ones, and it is only indicated as different, but there is no difference in the essence of the meaning. Sixth, regarding the meaning of universal existence, there are two: indicating the essence, and explaining the difference. The first is: How the self-nature without discrimination, like the sky universally follows, the nature of mind, the immaculate realm, is thus the nature of universal existence. Thus it is said, for example, the sky, which is the self-nature of no discrimination and no obstruction, universally follows and pervades all form without distinction, the nature of mind, clear light, is immaculate from the beginning
