It should be done thus. The second (part) has two aspects: the meaning of the nature to be purified, and the meaning of the cause of purification. The first is, as it is said: "Because of power and immutability, and the nature of being moist, these jewels, sky, and water are similar to the qualities of water." It means that based on the respective characteristics of the three natures mentioned above, the Dharmakaya is similar to a wish-fulfilling jewel because it possesses the power to accomplish all desired things as one wishes; Suchness is similar to the sky because its nature does not change in all circumstances; and the lineage is to be understood as similar to the qualities of water because it is the nature of being moistened by compassion that pervades all sentient beings. Based on the common nature of all three, because they are always stainless and completely pure by nature, wish-fulfilling jewels, the sky, and water are similar to the qualities of being pure by nature. The second (part) has two aspects: the way to abandon the four obscurations to be abandoned, and the way to transform into a Bodhisattva through the antidote. The first is, as it is said: "Anger towards the Dharma and the view of self, fear of the sufferings of samsara, and indifference to the welfare of sentient beings, the four obscurations of the greedy, the great heretics, the Shravakas, and the Pratyekabuddhas, the cause of purification is especially faith, and other four dharmas." It means that in general, there are three categories of sentient beings: those who desire existence, those who desire liberation from existence, and those who desire neither. Therefore, the obscurations that arise in the continuum of those bases, the objects to be abandoned, are of four kinds: anger towards the Mahayana Dharma, the view of self in persons and so on, fear of the suffering of samsara and the desire for one's own peace and happiness, and indifference to accomplishing the benefit of sentient beings, in order, are the lineage destroyers who desire existence, the extremely greedy who are certain to fall into samsara, the heretics who desire liberation from existence but engage in non-means, and the Shravakas and Pratyekabuddhas who desire liberation from existence and engage in means, are the four obscurations that hinder the manifestation of the Tathagatagarbha. Among them, the first makes the Dharmakaya impure, the second makes the self (Sanskrit: ātman, Tibetan: བདག,Roman transliteration: atman, Chinese literal meaning: self) unholy, the third
