The nature of the Tathagatagarbha, in the state of Buddhahood, is called the Dharmakaya of the Tathagata, which is the immaculate Suchness; the powers and so on related to that Dharmakaya, and the Buddhadharma encompassed by the fruits of cessation and maturation, are the immaculate qualities of the Buddha; and by its power, in accordance with each individual to-be-tamed being, the supreme activity of spontaneously accomplishing the benefit of sentient beings without effort, and constantly and continuously accomplishing it, is the activity of the Victorious One. Thus, the way in which the three jewels and virtuous results arise from the four places of cause and condition is inconceivable to Shravakas, Pratyekabuddhas, and Aryas, because it possesses the ultimate wisdom that directly sees the nature of reality, so it is only the domain of the Buddhas. Secondly: The lineage of these three jewels, The realm of all seers, That also has four aspects in order, Inconceivable by four causes. As it is said, the lineage from which these three jewel results arise and are accomplished, that is, the true meaning of these four places that are causes and conditions, is the wisdom realm that only the Buddhas, who directly see all aspects of knowable things, can know. Moreover, the meaning of these four places, that is, the four aspects such as the element, will be explained in order, and because it possesses these four reasons, ordinary people cannot conceive of it as it is. Thirdly: Because it possesses purity and defilement, Because it is completely defiled and without defilement, Because it is a dharma without differentiation, Because it is spontaneously accomplished and non-conceptual. As it is said, at the same time, the nature of the mind is completely pure from the beginning, and also, in temporary situations, it also possesses complete defilement caused by adventitious stains, therefore it is inconceivable, this is the meaning of the element. Previously, there was not the slightest complete defilement caused by adventitious stains, and through the habituation of the path, later all defilements will become extremely pure, therefore it is inconceivable, this is the meaning of Bodhi. The ultimate qualities are completely related to defilement in the state of ordinary beings, and are also the nature of reality without differentiation.

It is also inherently present, but it does not manifest its power until enlightenment, so it is not manifest either. Therefore, it is the meaning of inconceivable qualities. It is also spontaneously accomplished without effort, and it fulfills the wishes of sentient beings in accordance with their capacity without interruption at all times. It is also free from any conceptualization of thinking, 'I will do this and that.' Therefore, it is the meaning of inconceivable activity. It seems as if two contradictory things are gathered on one basis. In reality, there is no contradiction, because the nature of the essence is pure, and its self-nature is emptiness. Impurity is associated with temporary stains. What was not there before is that the stains are not in the nature of the essence. What is purified later is that the stains are removed like rust from gold. Although it is not present in the stage of ordinary beings, later, when it is completely purified from stains, it is present because the nature of reality has no difference. Although there are no qualities in the stage of ordinary beings because of the impurity of stains, later, when it is purified from stains, the qualities are inseparable from the nature of reality. For example, gold has no light when the rust is not removed, but later the light merges without difference. Activity is as explained by nine examples in the following chapter. The fourth is: 'The object to be realized and the realization of it, the limbs are the cause of realization, the order is as it is, abiding in one place, the three causes of purification are the conditions.' Thus it is said, therefore these four places of meaning also encompass all knowable things. Among them, the essence with stains is the place to be realized. Bodhi free from stains is the place of the nature of realization itself. The qualities related to Bodhi are the place of the limbs of that realization. Its power, activity, is the place where others also realize that essence. Therefore, from these four places, in whatever order, they abide in one place. The Tathagatagarbha with stains is the cause of purification, because it is completely purified from stains and the Three Jewels arise. The latter three places are the conditions of purification. Second, the nature of each of the four places is explained in four parts: the essence to be realized, the Bodhi of realization, the qualities of the limbs, and the activity of the agent. The first of these is the essence
