From the Ornament of Precious Liberation, the nineteenth chapter, which explains the classification of grounds. The fruit is the body of the complete and perfect Buddha. Thus, having completely traversed the grounds and paths, one manifestly attains complete and perfect enlightenment in the state of the three bodies. Also, in the Lamp for the Path to Enlightenment, it is said, "Buddhahood is not long in coming." That Buddha also, in summary, nature, meaning of words, difference, classification, numerical determination, characteristics, distinction, and the seven meanings, summarizes the bodies of the complete and perfect Buddha. Among these, the first, the nature of the complete and perfect Buddha, is the perfection of abandonment and the perfection of wisdom. Among these, the perfection of abandonment is the abandonment of the afflictive obscurations and the obscurations to knowledge, having swept them away on the grounds and paths, without remainder, through the unimpeded entry of the vajra-like samadhi. That is, the obscurations of meditative absorption, etc., are merely distinctions of those two obscurations. By abandoning those two, all obscurations are abandoned. There are different views on the perfection of wisdom. Some say that the Buddha also has conceptual thought and also has wisdom. Some say that the Buddha does not have conceptual thought, but has wisdom that knows everything clearly. Some say that wisdom is cut off. Some say that the Buddha has never had wisdom. However, in the teachings of both sutras and shastras, the wisdom of the Buddha is explained. As it is said in the Noble Collection Sutra, "Therefore, if you wish to touch the supreme wisdom of the Buddha, have faith in the mother of the Buddhas." Also, in the Hundred Thousand Verses of the Perfection of Wisdom, it is said, "The complete and perfect Buddha has attained unobstructed wisdom regarding all dharmas." Also, in the twenty-first chapter of that same text, it is said, "There is the wisdom of the unsurpassed Buddha. There is the turning of the wheel of Dharma. There is the ripening of sentient beings." Other sutras also explain much about wisdom. As for the shastras, in the Ornament of the Sutras, it is also said, "Just as a single ray of sunlight,

Those who generate young rays, likewise, for all Buddhas as well, know that wisdom arises. Thus, and so on. Mirror-like wisdom is unmoving, the three wisdoms rely on it, equality and individual discernment, accomplishing activities is only that. Thus it is said. In other treatises as well, the wisdom of the Buddha is explained. Relying on those treatises, some assert that the Buddha possesses wisdom. Furthermore, if explaining the manner of possessing, if these wisdoms are briefly summarized, they are the wisdom that knows the suchness (of reality) and the wisdom that knows the extent (of phenomena). Among these, the wisdom that knows the suchness (of reality) is the knowledge of ultimate truth. As previously stated, the ultimate of diamond-like samadhi, completely familiarizing oneself with that sole reality, when all elaborations of objects are cut off, all mental activities are completely pacified, the dharmadhatu without elaboration and wisdom without elaboration become one taste, like water entering water or oil entering oil, without difference, or like claiming to see space when no form is seen, the great wisdom without appearance becomes the basis of all precious qualities. Thus it is also said: As water enters water, and as oil follows oil, the knowable, free from elaboration, is that very nature, inseparable wisdom intermingled. This is said to be the self-nature dharmakaya of all Buddhas. And, 'Seeing space' is a common saying among sentient beings, how does one see space? Examine this meaning. Likewise, seeing the Dharma is shown by the Thus-Gone One. Seeing cannot be explained by other examples. Thus it is said. The wisdom that knows the extent (of phenomena) is the knowledge of all aspects of conventional, nominal truth. Relying on diamond-like samadhi, destroying all seeds of obscuration, it transforms into great wisdom. By its power, like placing a moist Emblica fruit in the palm of one's hand, one knows and sees all collections of knowable objects gathered by the three times. In the sutras as well, it is explained that the Buddha knows conventional truth, as it is said: The peacock's plumage is singular, the aspects of its causes are diverse, there is no knowable object that is not known by the all-knowing, knowing that is the power of the all-knowing. Thus it is said.
