Sons of Lava. The Bodhisattva, in this way, up to the ninth bhumi, with a mind that thoroughly distinguishes and differentiates immeasurable objects of knowledge, and so forth, through ten purifications, is said to attain the bhumi of empowerment for omniscient wisdom. The bhumi of empowerment for omniscient wisdom is the tenth bhumi. Why is the tenth bhumi called the bhumi of empowerment for omniscient wisdom? Because the Bodhisattva abiding on the tenth bhumi is empowered by the rays of light from the Buddhas of the ten directions. The details can be learned from the Sutra of the Ten Bhumis. The Ratnavali also says: "Because the Bodhisattva is empowered by the light of the Buddha." The distinction of practice is that the Bodhisattva abiding on this bhumi generally practices all ten perfections, but especially emphasizes that the perfection of wisdom is the most excellent. The distinction of purification is that, as previously explained, with those three causes, the root of virtue is completely purified. As it is said: "For example, a great ornament of the gods, not made by craftsmen, adorned with precious jewels, if the king of the gods freely wears it on his head or neck, then it cannot be taken away by the appearance of the ornaments of other gods and humans." Similarly, the cause of wisdom of the Bodhisattva abiding on the tenth bhumi cannot be taken away by all sentient beings, Shravakas, Pratyekabuddhas, and Bodhisattvas below the ninth bhumi. Thus it is said. The distinction of realization is that, from those four empowerments, one realizes the state of being empowered in action, and therefore, according to one's wishes, one benefits sentient beings with various emanations. The distinction of birth is that the Bodhisattva abiding on this bhumi becomes the great Ishvara Deva, skilled in teaching the Dharma of the Paramitas to all sentient beings, Shravakas, Pratyekabuddhas, and Bodhisattvas. Thus it is said: "Because of its maturation, it becomes the lord of the Pure Abode Gods, the lord of the inconceivable realm of wisdom, the supreme great Ishvara." Thus it is said. The distinction of power is: in an instant, a moment, a short time, etc.

Furthermore, regarding the Buddha-field of meditative absorption, one obtains immeasurable billions of trillions of billions of dust particles of infinitesimal dust particles, and combines them with samadhi and so forth. Moreover, from each pore, one can instantly manifest countless Buddhas and Bodhisattvas along with their immeasurable retinues. One can manifest many beings such as gods and humans. To those who are to be tamed, one can teach the Dharma by abiding in the form of Indra, Brahma, the protectors of the world, kings, Shravakas, Pratyekabuddhas, and Tathagatas, according to what is appropriate for them. As it is said in the Madhyamakavatara: "From the pores of the skin, perfect Buddhas appear, together with retinues of countless Bodhisattvas, and also gods, humans, and asuras, they are able to manifest in every instant." The ten Bodhisattva grounds have been explained. The Buddha-ground is the state of the ultimate path, where, through the arising of the Vajra-like Samadhi, the obscurations of afflictions to be abandoned by meditation and the obscurations of knowledge, which are like the essence, are abandoned simultaneously. Likewise, those grounds are traversed by three countless eons. As it is said in the Bodhisattvabhumi: "All of these are perfectly accomplished by three great countless eons. In the first great countless eon, having perfectly transcended the practice of aspiration, one obtains the abode of the Joyful One, which is also obtained by constant effort, but not by non-effort. In the second great countless eon, having transcended from the Joyful Ground to the seventh ground, the Far-Going One, one will obtain the eighth ground, the Immovable One. This is certain, for the Bodhisattva with such pure intention will surely strive. In the third great countless eon, having perfectly transcended the eighth and ninth grounds, one will obtain the tenth ground, the Cloud of Dharma. Among those who strive with great diligence in that endeavor, some will be subdued in many intermediate eons, and some will be subdued between great eons, but it should be known that none will be subdued in countless eons." Thus it is said. The sacred Dharma, the wish-fulfilling jewel.
