There are two paths: the mundane path and the supramundane path. Among them, the mundane path of meditation is: the first dhyana, the second dhyana, the third dhyana, the fourth dhyana, the sphere of infinite space, the sphere of infinite consciousness, the sphere of nothingness, and the sphere of neither perception nor non-perception. There are three necessities for meditating on these: to suppress the afflictions abandoned by meditation, to accomplish special qualities such as immeasurables, and to serve as the basis for the supramundane path. The supramundane path of meditation is: shamatha and vipashyana that follow and are accompanied by focusing on the two wisdoms. That is, in the path of seeing, each of the four truths has four kshantis and four jñanas, making sixteen in total. In seeing, the realization of the eight kshantis is sufficient for the path of seeing. The eight jñanas are the practice of shamatha and vipashyana in the path of meditation through being in accordance with the samadhi of the four dhyanas and the three formless absorptions. Among them, familiarizing oneself with the realization of dharmata is the aspect of dharma-jñana, and familiarizing oneself with the realization of jñana is the aspect of anu-jñana. The sphere of neither perception nor non-perception is mundane because the activity of consciousness is not completely clear. Why are these called the path of meditation? Because the suchness realized in the path of seeing is familiarized through meditation, it is called the path of meditation. At that stage, there is the noble eightfold path, namely, right view, right thought, right speech, right action, right livelihood, right effort, right mindfulness, and right samadhi. The ultimate path is: the nature of knowing cessation and knowing non-arising that arises after the vajra-like samadhi. Among them, the vajra-like samadhi is the state of the path of abandonment at the end of the path of meditation, which is included in the path of application and the path of no interruption. That samadhi is called vajra-like because it is uninterrupted, hard, stable, of one taste, and pervasive.

It is so. Therefore, "unobstructed" means that it is not overcome by worldly phenomena. "Solid" means that it cannot be destroyed by all obscurations. "Stable" means that it is not moved by conceptual thoughts. "One taste" means that it is one taste in nature. "Pervasive" means that it focuses on the common suchness of all knowable things. The knowledge of exhaustion that arises after that samadhi is the wisdom that focuses on the four truths because of the power of the exhaustion of the cause, the origin. The knowledge of non-arising is the wisdom that focuses on the four truths because of the power of abandoning the result, suffering. Alternatively, the wisdom that focuses on the exhaustion of the cause and the non-arising of the result is the knowledge of exhaustion and the knowledge of non-arising. Why are these called the ultimate path? Because it is the ultimate learning and the path that leads to the city of Nirvana, it is called the ultimate path. At that time, there are ten non-learning dharmas, namely, from non-learning right view to non-learning samadhi, as well as non-learning liberation and non-learning right knowledge. These ten non-learning dharmas are also spoken of in terms of the five aggregates of non-outflow, among which non-learning right speech, action, and livelihood are the three aggregates of morality. Right mindfulness and samadhi are the two aggregates of concentration. Right view, right thought, and right effort are the three aggregates of wisdom. Right liberation is the aggregate of liberation. Right knowledge is the aggregate of the wisdom of seeing liberation. In the "Ornament of Precious Liberation, the Wish-Fulfilling Jewel of the Holy Dharma," the eighteenth chapter, which shows the nature of the path. So, how many of these five paths are there? In summary: the first action and the practice of aspiration, as well as the ten Bodhisattva grounds and the Buddha ground, thus, the grounds are summarized by thirteen. These grounds are also mentioned in the "Lamp for the Path to Enlightenment": "One will obtain Joyful and so on." It is said that Joyful is the first ground, and "and so on" includes the two grounds below and the ten grounds above. Among them, the ground of the first practitioner is the stage of the accumulation path, one's own continuum not yet

Because it is what makes it ripen. The ground of faith practice is the stage of the path of application, because it is merely generating faith in the meaning of emptiness. At that time, the opposing factors of the perfections, such as stinginess, and the afflictions to be abandoned by seeing and abandoning, and the imputations of the obscurations of knowledge will not arise, but will be suppressed. The ten bodhisattva grounds are from the first ground, Joyful Ground, to the tenth ground, Cloud of Dharma. As it is said in the "Noble Ten Grounds Sutra": "O sons of the Victorious Ones, these ten are the grounds of the bodhisattvas, called the Joyful Ground of the bodhisattvas," and so on. Among them, the first ground, Joyful Ground, is the stage of the arising of the path of seeing, which is the actual realization of the meaning of emptiness. From the second ground onwards to the tenth ground is the stage of the path of meditation, which is to familiarize oneself with the suchness realized in the first ground. These ten bodhisattva grounds should also be understood by means of the common dharma and the particular dharma. Among them, the common dharma is threefold: the nature of the ground, the definition of the ground, and the reason for dividing it into ten grounds. Among them, the nature of the ground is the wisdom that directly realizes the selflessness of phenomena, which is in accordance with the samadhi of the companion, and is included in the lineage of learning. The definition of the ground is that the ground is the basis of the qualities of that and that stage, or the ground is the cause of generating higher and higher grounds, so it is called ground. An example of the definition of the ground is that because it abides in that wisdom and enjoys it, it is a ground, like a cow's pen. Because it travels on that wisdom, it is a ground, like a horse's racecourse. Because that wisdom is the source of all qualities, it is a ground, like a field. The reason for dividing it into ten grounds is that it is divided into ten grounds because of the difference of complete purification. The particular dharma is that each ground is shown with nine differences, namely the difference of name, the difference of definition, the difference of complete purification, the difference of what is to be practiced, the difference of complete purification, the difference of realization, the difference of what is to be abandoned, the difference of birth, and the difference of power. Among them, the first is the difference of name.
