and diligence, meditation, and wisdom. Thus, these six aspects summarize the training of entering bodhicitta. That is the end. Also, in the Sutra Requested by Good Arm, it says: Good Arm, Bodhisattva Mahasattva, in order to quickly realize complete enlightenment, should always, continuously, and completely perfect these six paramitas. What are the six? They are: the paramita of generosity, the paramita of ethics, the paramita of patience, the paramita of diligence, the paramita of meditation, and the sixth is the paramita of wisdom. Thus it is said. These six paramitas should also be understood through the two ways of establishing the meaning in brief and explaining the branches in detail. First, in establishing the meaning in brief, the verse says: Number definite, order definite, characteristics and definition, detailed classification and summary, the six summarize the six perfections. That is the end. Among them, the number of paramitas is definite as six, which is based on higher realms and definite goodness. That is, three meanings of higher realms and three meanings of definite goodness. Among them, the three meanings of higher realms are: in terms of enjoyment, it is generosity. In terms of body, it is ethics. In terms of retinue, it is patience. The three meanings of definite goodness are: in terms of increasing qualities, it is diligence. In terms of tranquility, it is meditation. In terms of insight, it is wisdom. Thus, in the Ornament of the Sutras, it is also said: Enjoyment and body are perfect, and retinue is also perfect, higher realms. And so on. The definite order is: the order of arising in the continuum, that is, with generosity, one does not look at enjoyment but properly takes ethics. Having ethics, one can be patient. Having patience, one can initiate diligence. Initiating diligence, one can generate samadhi. Abiding in samadhi, one can truly know as it is. Or it is the order of inferior and superior, that is, the inferior is said first, and the superior is said later. Or it is the order of coarse and subtle, that is, the coarse is said first.

That which becomes coarse is easy to enter, as previously stated, and that which becomes subtle is difficult to enter, as stated later. Thus, in the Ornament of the Sutras, it is said: 'Relying on the former, the latter arises, because of being in inferior and superior states, because of being coarse and subtle, therefore these abide in order.' Thus it is said. The characteristics of the perfections, such as the generosity of a Bodhisattva, are fourfold: diminishing adverse factors, generating non-conceptual wisdom, fulfilling all desires, and completely maturing sentient beings, these are the three aspects. Thus, in the Ornament of the Sutras, it is said: 'Generosity diminishes adverse factors, possesses non-conceptual wisdom, completely fulfills all desires, matures sentient beings, these are the three aspects.' And so on, it is said. The etymology is: because it abandons poverty, it is generosity. Because it obtains coolness, it is discipline. Because it endures anger, it is patience. Because it connects with excellence, it is diligence. Because it holds in the mind, it is meditative concentration. Because it knows the ultimate meaning through this, it is wisdom. Because these lead beyond the other shore of samsara to nirvana, they are the perfections. Thus, in the Ornament of the Sutras, it is said: 'For abandoning poverty and obtaining coolness, and enduring anger and connecting with excellence, and holding in the mind and knowing the ultimate meaning, it is taught.' Thus it is said. The detailed divisions are: the generosity of generosity, the discipline of generosity, and so on. Each perfection is divided into six sixes, thus there are thirty-six. Thus, in the Ornament of Clear Realization, it is said: 'The six, such as generosity, by the collection of each of these, whatever is the practice of armor, is explained as it is by six sets of six.' Thus it is said. The summary is that it is summarized into two accumulations: generosity and discipline are the accumulation of merit, wisdom is the accumulation of wisdom, and patience, diligence, and meditative concentration belong to both accumulations. Thus, in the Ornament of the Sutras, it is said: 'Generosity and discipline are the accumulation of merit, wisdom is of wisdom, the other three are of both.' Thus it is said. The true Dharma, the wish-fulfilling jewel.
