Therefore, by means of the earth, all things will be born in a place that is good and powerful. Etc., combine these. These explain the karmic results of merit. As stated in the "Precious Garland": Without attachment, hatred, or ignorance, the actions produced by that are virtuous. From virtuous actions come all happy migrations, and happiness in all lifetimes. Thus it is said. The karmic result of immovability is: by meditating on the samadhi of absorption, one obtains the samadhi that produces results. Among these, the samadhi of absorption includes the eight preparatory stages, the eight actual stages of samadhi, and the special samadhi. The samadhi that produces results includes the gods of the seventeen realms of the Form Realm, and the gods of the four formless realms. If we directly combine the causes and effects of these, practicing the ten virtues is general. By meditating on the preparatory stage of the first dhyana that propels, the unobstructed path, and then meditating on the actual stage of the first dhyana that completes, the concentration with investigation and joy, one will be born as a god of the Brahma host. By meditating on the special dhyana, one will be born as Great Brahma. By meditating on the preparatory stage of the second dhyana that propels, the unobstructed path, and then meditating on the actual stage of the second dhyana that completes, abandoning investigation, the concentration with joy, one will be born as a god of the second dhyana, such as the gods of limited light. Similarly, the preparatory stages that propel should be applied in the same way. By meditating on the actual stage of the third dhyana that completes, abandoning joy and having concentration with pleasure, one will be born as a god of the third dhyana, such as the gods of limited virtue. By meditating on the actual stage of the fourth dhyana that completes, abandoning investigation, joy, and pleasure, one will be born as a god of the fourth dhyana, such as the gods of cloudless. What arises from being separated from the four dhyanas is the sphere of infinite space; by meditating on it, one will be born as a god of the sphere of infinite space. What arises from being separated from that is the sphere of infinite consciousness; by meditating on it, one will be born as a god of the sphere of infinite consciousness. What arises from being separated from that is the sphere of nothingness; by meditating on it, one will be born as a god of the sphere of nothingness. What arises from being separated from that

Furthermore, the Station of Neither Perception nor Non-Perception (Tibetan: འདུ་ཤེས་མེད་འདུ་ཤེས་མེད་མིན་སྐྱེ་མཆེད་) is the birthplace of the Station of Neither Perception nor Non-Perception (Tibetan: འདུ་ཤེས་མེད་འདུ་ཤེས་མེད་མིན་སྐྱེ་མཆེད་). By cultivating it, one is born as a deity in the Station of Neither Perception nor Non-Perception (Tibetan: འདུ་ཤེས་མེད་འདུ་ཤེས་མེད་མིན་སྐྱེ་མཆེད་). The so-called "born from solitude" refers to generating revulsion towards the lower realms, in order to be free from desire. If it is said that the Station of Infinite Space (Tibetan: ནམ་མཁའ་མཐའ་ཡས་སྐྱེ་མཆེད་) and so on are also named as such because they focus on space and so on themselves, is that so? No. The first three, at the time of entering into absorption, think of "infinite space" and so on, and are therefore named as such. Afterwards, once they have entered into absorption, they no longer focus on this. The last one is named through the lessening of consciousness, as it is neither clear consciousness nor complete absence of consciousness. In general, all eight of these actual practices are virtuous and single-minded. They reveal the cause and effect of unwavering karma. As stated in the "Garland of Jewels": "Through immeasurable and formless meditations, Brahma and others experience bliss." Thus, the three contaminated karmas are what generate the objects of samsara. The third meaning, the so-called "karma belonging to oneself," refers to oneself enjoying the fruits of one's own actions. The fruition matures on the aggregates grasped by the doer, and not on others. As stated in the "Compendium of Abhidharma": "What is karma belonging to oneself? It is for the sake of experiencing the maturation of one's own actions, which is not shared with others; this is called 'belonging to oneself'." If it were not so, then the performance of karma would be in vain, and there would also be the fault of encountering karma that was not performed. Therefore, the sutra also states: "The karma performed by Devadatta will not mature on earth, water, and so on, but will only mature on his own grasped aggregates and sense bases. On whom else would it mature?" The fourth meaning, the so-called "partaking in the share of karma," refers to experiencing the results of virtuous and non-virtuous actions, pleasure and pain, without confusion. By accumulating virtuous karma, one experiences the fruit of happiness; by accumulating non-virtuous karma, one experiences the fruit of suffering. As stated in the "Compendium of Abhidharma": "How does one partake in the share of karma? The maturation of one's own actions
