The impure substance of the mother mixes with the consciousness of the bardo. From then on, it is said to remain in the womb for thirty-eight weeks. Some say it stays for eight months, or nine months, or ten months. Some are uncertain, and there are those who stay in the womb for as long as sixty years. Moreover, in the first week, in the mother's womb, it is like being cooked and fried in a hot copper pot, the body's senses and consciousness together experience unbearable suffering, which is called "Mer Mer Po." Its shape is like rice water or the cream of yogurt. Then, in the second week, from the mother's womb, a wind called "Kuntu Regpa" arises, touching the womb, causing four mouths to manifest, which is called "Nur Nur Po." Its shape is like a yogurt cube or frozen butter. Then, in the third week, from the mother's womb, a wind called "Dzoga" arises, touching the womb, causing the four elements to manifest very clearly, which is called "Tartar Po." Its shape is like an iron hook or an ant. Similarly, combining them, in the seventh week, from the mother's womb, a wind called "The Twister" arises, this wind touching the womb, causing two hands and two feet to appear, at that time, a strong person pulling from the limbs and another hitting with a stick will cause suffering like being stretched out. Similarly, combining them, in the eleventh week, from the mother's womb, a wind called "Appearing Holes" arises, touching the womb, causing nine holes to appear, at that time, there will be suffering like scratching a new wound with a finger. Furthermore, if the mother's diet is unbalanced and relies on cold, there will be suffering like being thrown naked into ice water. Similarly, food that is too hot, too sour, etc., also causes suffering. When eating too much, there is suffering like being squeezed between rocks. When eating too little, there is suffering like being hung in the sky. If there is vigorous exercise, jumping, or beating, there will be suffering like rolling down a mountainside.

存在痛苦。行淫过多的时候，有如荆棘鞭打般的痛苦。在第三十七个七天里，因为知道在子宫里，所以会产生不净的观念，气味难闻的观念，黑暗的观念，监狱的观念，以及完全厌倦而想出去的观念。在第三十八个七天里，从母亲的子宫里，生起名为“采花”的风，那风使住在子宫里的胎儿转动，使出生的门朝向一边。那时，有如被抛入铁轮般的痛苦。像这样，直到那时，子宫的温度像铜的热度一样，极其热烈地煮和烤，二十八种不同的风接触和移动，母亲的血等的精华滋养和生长，从凝结的肉团开始直到身体完全形成。就像《入胎经》里所说的那样：最初从凝结的肉团开始，生出血泡，从血泡生出肉条，肉条变得坚硬，坚硬的东西变化之后，生出头和四肢，骨头聚集形成身体，一切都从业的因缘产生。然后，生起名为“面朝下看”的风，那风使身体头朝下倒转，伸出手臂，向外出生。那时，有如从铁的针眼中拉出来般的痛苦。有些人死在子宫里而出生，有些人与母亲一同死亡。而且，当他出生并掉在地上时，有如被扔进荆棘坑般的痛苦。擦拭的时候，有如剥皮后在墙角摩擦般的痛苦。在那里持续那么久，疾病的大小，狭窄与否，黑暗的程度，干净与否等等。现在无论多么渴望，你也要在不净的坑里待三天，被封闭着。三天之内，即使说要布施三两黄金，也没有人能做到，因为子宫的痛苦比那更甚。就像《亲友书》里所说的那样：极其难忍，气味恶臭，不净，赤裸。

There is suffering. When engaging in excessive sexual activity, there is suffering like being beaten with a thorny whip. In the thirty-seventh week, knowing that one is in the womb, there arises the perception of impurity, the perception of unpleasant odor, the perception of darkness, the perception of a prison, and the perception of wanting to escape due to complete weariness. In the thirty-eighth week, from the mother's womb, arises a wind called "collecting flowers." That wind turns the one residing in the womb, causing the door of birth to face sideways. At that time, there is suffering like being thrown into an iron wheel. Thus, until that time, the heat of the womb, like the heat of hot copper, intensely cooks and roasts. Twenty-eight different winds touch and move it. The essence of the mother's blood and so forth nourishes and grows it. From the initial jelly-like state until the body is completely formed. As it is said in the Sutra of Entering the Womb: "Initially, from the jelly-like state, a blister of flesh is born. From the blister, a strip of flesh is born. The strip of flesh becomes hard. The hard thing transforms, and the head and four limbs are born. Bones gather and the body is formed. All arise from the cause of karma." Then, a wind called "looking downwards" arises. That wind turns the body upside down, with the head facing down, and stretches out the arms, causing it to be born outwards. At that time, there is suffering like being pulled through the eye of an iron needle. Some die in the womb and are born. Some die together with their mother. Moreover, when he is born and falls to the ground, there is suffering like being thrown into a thorn pit. When wiped, there is suffering like being skinned and rubbed against a wall corner. There, one remains for that long, with sicknesses large and small, narrow or not narrow, darkness dark or not dark, clean or not clean, and so on. Now, no matter how great the desire, you must stay in the impure pit for three days, being confined. Within three days, even if one were to say to give three gold coins in charity, no one could do it, because the suffering of the womb is greater than that. As it is said in the Letter to a Friend: "Extremely unbearable, foul-smelling, impure, naked."
