Decide that there is no essence, and do not have any thoughts of joy or sorrow. If you cling to experience, it will become the root of wandering in the three realms or samsara, and you will not be liberated. Even outsiders have this much, but it is useless. In short, clinging to any experience or realization will ruin you. Without clinging to it, in a state without attachment or clinging, prolong it and liberate yourself from dullness through diligence. Generate patience, and if you meditate, the merits will be inconceivable. Therefore, you should learn in this way, and the actual ways in which experience, understanding, and realization arise should not be mistaken by both the master and the disciple, and you must recognize them. Primarily, do not cling to offerings and benefits for the sake of this life, but have genuine devotion to the lama that is not artificial, and cultivate bodhicitta towards the six realms of beings. Without distraction, keep track of the number of recitations, and do not become a blind, short-sighted, stingy, and stubborn person. It is extremely important not to be influenced by human dharma and the eight worldly concerns. If you practice in this way, free from faults, experiences and realizations will arise effortlessly, so make an effort in this way, and that is the eighth point. Secondly, Vipassanā: The body posture is as before, but the way of looking is very important at this time. The eyes should not be half-closed, crooked, or distorted, but should be directed straight ahead at the center of the empty space in front of you. The mind remains in a flawless state, naturally, without fabrication, selflessness, or contrivance, and rests naturally. Slightly raise your awareness and maintain a clear, alert, and undistracted mindfulness. When śamatha is good, look more at the nature of the mind. Is its nature, color, shape, arising, ceasing, and abiding, existence or non-existence, inside or outside, where does it abide? Apart from that which abides, is there anything else to know? Is there a void in which nothing can be recognized, or in the state of abiding, is there a clear awareness that cannot be recognized, which cannot be expressed in words? Is the nature of abiding dark, or is it clear, bright, and naked? Here are all the key points of reality. If you only hear and talk about it, and do not generate genuine experience and realization in the continuum bound by the eight worldly concerns, and just pretend, then you are deceiving yourself. If you are a renunciate, then you are deceiving with a false appearance of a monk.
