If mindfulness of shamatha-vipashyana pervades without distraction, then settle separately. Afterwards, if there is distraction, then alternately practice shamatha-vipashyana and guarding against distraction. And contemplate impermanence of death. Regarding death and so on, who among body, speech, and mind will die? Generate such a thought, and recognize the nature of death and the mind of death. That is merely imputed by the mind, and thus becomes liberated from the clinging to permanence and impermanence. Likewise, by contemplating all the faults of samsara, one will know both samsara and nirvana to be like the mountains on either side in a dream. Furthermore, by recognizing all sentient beings as parents, cultivate loving-kindness and compassion earnestly. Similarly, cultivate from aspiration bodhicitta to entering bodhicitta, and recognize its nature. By abiding without fabrication, with the appearance of clear bodhicitta, in the essence of freedom from elaboration, abide in a state of non-doing, thereby emptiness and compassion become inseparable. Also, from the path of the vase empowerment of the four empowerments, with any one of the four ways of generation of the generation stage, visualize oneself as the yidam. Visualize the outer environment and inner beings as deities, sounds as mantras, and observe their clarity and essence. That which is free from conceptualization is the practice of the union of generation and completion stages, combining the generation stage with Mahamudra and clear light and meditating. And at all times of going, walking, lying down, sitting, talking, and so on, recognize one's own nature and mix it into Mahamudra. Also, practicing the generation and completion stages or shamatha-vipashyana indivisibly with one-pointedness is Kuntuzangpo (Samantabhadra). If that becomes stable, then in solitary places, practice secretly by observing, meditating, and acting with wisdom, which is secret conduct. If that is stable without distraction, then mix it with distraction in gatherings of many people, and carry it onto the path and practice it, which is gathering conduct. That, according to the difference of stability and instability, is divided into three: great, medium, and small. For the great, there are no definite signs, and if one obtains the great stage of joining and wants to engage in elaborate activities, then in the guise of Heruka, without discriminating between what is edible and inedible, clean and unclean, good and bad, mix it with intense circumstances and practice, thereby gradually traversing the stage of joining and obtaining the path of seeing. From one's own side, having conquered demons, afflictions, and the Hinayana, is complete victory. From the perspective of others, the great gathering conduct greatly benefits sentient beings, and that conduct is also traversed by Mahamudra itself. For individuals with excellent faculties, it will increase.

Because there is nothing to be cultivated, it is separate from the cultivator and the cultivated. The various ways of arising that are not like this are known from the mouths of the lamas. These are the ways of arising by combining the alternating after-practice, the common vehicle path, the tantric system, and the four conducts. Thus, diligently practicing and arising is one. To dispel obstacles, one must also be free from attachment to good and bad objects, and one should also abandon the thought of attaining enlightenment at this time, even though the three times are unfulfilled, and one should be certain of attaining enlightenment in a single moment. And do not hold your own mind as ordinary, but know that it is the essence of the five wisdoms from the beginning, and do not hold your own aggregates, realms, and sources as impure, And be certain that from the beginning, the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas have arrived. Abandon the idea of being liberated only through hearing and thinking, and be certain of liberation through the power of meditation and the blessings of the Lama. Abandon the five wrong discriminations of object, time, essence, nature, and wisdom. Adjust the posture well, and if you stay, stay in the place where you stay, and if you walk, walk in the place where you walk, and look at the essence and abide. First, be skilled in starting meditation, and do not confuse samadhi and posture, abandon changeable fatigue, and be skilled in interrupting in between. And no matter what kind of good experience arises, do not be attached to it, and finally be skilled in cultivating the experience, that is, learn from the three skilled ones. The various appearances of the mind are the Nirmanakaya, the awareness is the Sambhogakaya, and the emptiness, the Svabhavikakaya, is inseparable from the Dharmakaya. Determine that all phenomena, samsara, and nirvana are its nature, so that all dharmas are free from the three stages of arising, abiding, and ceasing, and realize that they are free from all extremes of elaboration, and thus abide free from all acceptance, rejection, hope, and fear, which is two. Furthermore, if you are attached to the three of bliss, clarity, and non-thought, you will fall into the three realms, so no matter what good or bad experience arises, you should not cling to it as superior. By determining with the reasoning of oneness, all dharmas become empty in their own essence, or by analyzing with discrimination and stopping existence, only on the non-existence do you think that all of this is emptiness. If you think and meditate like this, you will lose the nature of emptiness, and thus become coarse towards karma and its results. Therefore, you should abandon the meditation on emptiness that is made up of the clinging to non-existence, and you should look at the essence of that clinging to non-existence, not
