Cut off the root of clinging to self. Abandoning the eighty-two obscurations to be abandoned by seeing, one will not return to samsara. Unless by the power of aspiration, one will not be born into existence by the power of karma. Then one will see the nature of freedom from elaboration, and it is said that qualities are perfected and virtues are born. The difference between one-pointedness and freedom from elaboration is whether or not conceptual thoughts are realized as the Dharmakaya. Here, too, one should abandon the three attachments, rely on solitary places and hermitages, and observe silence. This is the one hundred and first Dharma session. Next is the third, "One Taste." Previously, in the context of freedom from elaboration, all dharmas were comfortable in emptiness or without inherent existence. Whatever fresh conceptual thoughts arose, or whatever was slightly uncomfortable in appearance, that is where the saying "mingling of samsara and nirvana" comes from. Its meaning is that in this unceasing fresh appearance, there is no clinging to appearance as real, nor is there clinging to emptiness as emptiness. Meditating on this external appearance as being without inherent existence by one's own mind, or any dharma that appears as dual is not established. It is not merely measured by the mind, but appearance and non-appearance, emptiness and non-emptiness, appearance, object of focus, emptiness, generation stage, completion stage, conventional truth, ultimate truth, samsara and nirvana, etc., in short, all phenomena that include dualities such as happiness and suffering, are realized as being non-different, indivisible, and of one taste in union, and thus the co-emergent wisdom arises. For any fresh appearance or fresh thought, there is no affirmation or negation. With self-awareness, self-illumination, effortless, and authentic mindfulness, the three of mind, mindfulness, and appearance are like fire and heat, and the interdependence of cause and effect becomes manifest. Even in appearance, comfort is called the yoga of one taste. It has three levels: small, medium, and large. The first is: appearance and emptiness are mixed indivisibly, and everything is realized as the original nature. There is no emptiness or non-emptiness, and just the fresh awareness that arises is enough. Realize it as Dharma. On either appearance or emptiness, one also realizes that all the dharmas of the path are complete, but the three of body, appearance, and mind cannot be distinguished, and sometimes it is determined as mind. There, there is a little certainty of experience and grasping. In the subsequent cognition, earth and other solid things appear, and due to the strong disturbance of external conditions, one feels uncomfortable practicing virtue with the appearance of the six consciousnesses, and there are many appearances of grasper and grasped, and it seems that one cannot completely hide one's true thoughts when practicing Dharma.

Afterward, appearances are like illusions, and even in dreams, many confusions and attachments arise. Sometimes, the experience of the inseparability of body, appearance, and mind arises. Respect for cause and effect, devotion, and compassion seem to diminish, so do not let that happen. Eighty-second teaching session. The intermediate "One Taste" is due to the mixing of the attachment portion of previous experiences and definite understanding, so from those, matter is not completely gone out, awareness is not completely entered, appearance and mind merge into one, and the root of grasping and the grasped is completely severed. That attachment also arises depending on the object, but here, all the objects of grasping appear as primordially self-luminous, and because that is absent, it is separated from the consciousness of the grasper. The consciousness of attachment appearing on the object, as a kind of companion, everything appears. Forms and other objects appear non-conceptually, so the grasped and the grasper appear on the object. The small "One Taste" and the nature of union are no different, but the experience has become more stable. The experience of the three, body, appearance, and mind, merging into one arises. Subsequent cognition and dreams also have less confusion than before, and strong attachment will not be too much. However, in dreams or at other times, through correct mindfulness, the dualistic appearance of attachment to whether one is distracted or not will occur like an illusion. The difference between grasping mindfulness and correct mindfulness is that when distracted, after thinking "I am being distracted," virtuous actions suddenly arise in the continuum, that is grasping mindfulness, and it is a sign that previous attachment has entered. Without conceptual attachment, merely through mindfulness, it suddenly arises in practice, that is the Dharma of realization, it is called correct mindfulness, although it was not previously grasped by definite understanding, it is a sign that attachment has not entered. Eighty-third teaching session. The great "One Taste" is: realizing all phenomena of appearance, existence, samsara, and nirvana as the state of equality in unbornness. Appearance and mind are determined as one, and that previous experience becomes more stable, because appearance has not stopped, so the clinging to reality is purified, and the non-dual realization arises day and night continuously. In the door of non-conceptual appearance, there will be some slight feelings for uncertain experiences. The clear appearance without attachment will not stop. Sometimes all appearances such as samsara and nirvana appear as the nature of realization, and dualistic attachment is cut off. It is only the subsequent appearance without recognition that is like an illusion.
