There also arises a feeling of being in bliss. And so on, endlessly arises. This is also called the beginning of calm abiding. It is also called seizing the mind. It is also called the mind abiding or the fire moving in the realm. Thus it is said. The accomplished one, Oḍḍiyānapa, said: "Practicing the meaning of Mahāmudrā is the real basis for purifying adventitious stains, so at the time of the path's completion, the so-called adventitious stains are the expulsion of objects." Thus he said. I requested, "Please bestow such Mahāmudrā instructions upon my mind." He replied, "The instructions are not to be found elsewhere. The six dharmas of Tilopa must be emphasized in practice." Thus he said. I requested, "To practice that, please bestow some oral instructions upon my mind." He replied, "To that, the oral instructions are: Do not think, do not contemplate, do not remember, do not meditate, do not examine. Leave the mind in its natural state." Among these, "Do not think" means upon the past, that is, if you cut off the past, it is the cause of conceptualization and grasping. Since the past is of no help to practice, do not cut off the past, that is the meaning. "Do not contemplate" means upon the present, that is, if you make alterations upon the present, the basis for practice will be disturbed, and samadhi will be lost to external conditions, like an outsider entering the inside, so do not add any embellishments. "Do not remember" means do not welcome the future, that is, if you welcome the future and rush to accept it, you will lose the opportunity to practice, and you will not be able to recognize the real basis in time, so you must act like not letting the prey escape. "Do not meditate" means in emptiness, that is, if you meditate on the world of vessel and contents as a temporary emptiness like a vase empty of water, you will not understand the meaning of reality, so leave appearances as they are, that is the meaning. "Do not examine" means in the object of focus, that is, if you examine the object of focus, no matter how good and perfect it is, it will not go beyond the realm of signs or mind or intellect, so do not examine the object of desire, that is the meaning. "Leave the mind in its natural state" means in the natural state of being, that is, if you make alterations such as wanting to be better, no matter how you do it, it is useless, so its own nature is bright, shiny, naked, clear, vivid, open, free from all names, name

It does not contradict anything, it is the Dharma nature that transcends the realm of words. This relaxed and free state, just let it abide in the state of self-knowing and self-illuminating, do not disturb it in any way, that is its meaning. In this way, all the methods of practicing Mahamudra are included in these six dharmas. If you grasp such a key point, you will not become someone who stays in sudden defilements. Also, the method of finding the abode of the mind, the only important thing at first is devotion to the guru. Then, it is very important to adjust the posture of the body and the way of looking well. Based on this, the way to settle the mind is as Saraha said. Thus it is said: If released, it will abide steadily without shaking, I realize it like a reversed drum. Therefore, if you think that you must grasp the mind so that it does not scatter anywhere, then the image of thought will become the cause of its own distraction. For example, if someone comes to a place and the official says: Don't let you go anywhere else. If he is asked to stay here today, although he was originally very happy to stay, driven by this reason, he will think: There is no choice but to arrange this and that difficult thing, is it better to escape? So he prepares to escape. Similarly, if there is no order from the official, he will stay as comfortably as possible. Therefore, do not let the mind be busy, but relax and let go, in a state of non-distraction, do not meditate on anything, without any fabrication, relax and abide lazily. In a state without hope and fear, without calculation, make it broad. In this state, do not chase after the past, do not welcome the future, and for the present, abide without any fabrication, hope or fear. Completely cut off all external proliferations, and do not let the mind-consciousness scatter outward. Even if the thought arises that it is happy to practice meditation, and depressed if it does not arise, that is also the cause of distracting thoughts, so in a state away from the object of meditation and the meditator, let the mind naturally, blankly, and lazily abide, and then the mind will truly abide in its own nature. Saraha said: This mind-nature bound by ropes, if released, will undoubtedly be liberated. Therefore, cutting off the proliferations of the three times and abiding without fabrication is the supreme method of finding the abode of the mind. If it is not like this, but with a desire to surpass others,
