As it is said: "To regard 'exists' as permanent, to regard 'does not exist' as annihilation." Therefore. Where are those who hold such views? Mainly among the non-Buddhists, but also among the Buddhists. Among the non-Buddhists, the sage Purusha, in order to make the gods victorious over the Asuras, composed treatises without the concept of past and future lives and without merit and demerit, and his followers are numerous. The sage Pravrtti is said to be contemporaneous with the master Dharmakirti. And so on, they propagated this doctrine. Those known as "This-shore Beauty" or "Far-throwers" are those who regard it as annihilation. Others, following the teacher Kapila of the Samkhya school, acknowledge the twenty-five principles and believe that liberation is attained by knowing this truth; they are the Samkhyas. The sage Kanada, who was blessed by the great god Maheśvara, or the school of Foot-eye, following him, acknowledge the six categories of Vaisheshika, etc.; they are the Maheshvaras. Those who regard Vishnu as a god and follow the teacher Jayantasvamin, etc., are the Vaishnavas. Following the sage Jina, they acknowledge the six substances, etc.; they are the naked ones. These are known as the four schools of eternalists. Furthermore, those who follow the teachings composed by the teacher Rahula of the Asuras are known as Tajiks or barbarians. In Tibet, the Yungdrung Bon, which follows Shenrab Miwo (1917-781 BC), and in China, those who adhere to the Confucian doctrine, although not truly non-Buddhists, the former, the Tajiks, are even lower than the non-Buddhists in their actions, and the latter two do not acknowledge the self, etc., and are slightly better than the non-Buddhists, so they are also included in the category of eternalists. Among the Buddhists, the Vaibhashikas and the Sautrantikas, in general, do not deny the absence of self of phenomena, and assert that external objects have indivisible atoms, etc. The Mind-Only school believes that the consciousness of the two emptinesses is truly existent, and therefore they are attached to the absence of self of phenomena, etc. These are those who hold views that cling to the extremes of existence and non-existence. As the teacher Matimati said in the commentary on the Thirty Verses: "Those who say that consciousness exists as the object of knowledge exists are on the extreme of permanence; those who say that consciousness does not exist as the object of knowledge exists are on the extreme of annihilation." As it is said. The meaning of the basis of the two truths, free from extremes, is to say

Being free from the two extremes of examining in a reversed manner is the undeluded fundamental meaning of reality. That is also understood as the meaning of uniting the two truths. The two truths are the ultimate truth and the conventional truth. The former is the reality of all permanent and impermanent dharmas, free from the eight elaborations, completely pure like the center of the sky, not falling into the side of permanence, and far beyond the realm of thought and expression, indicated by words such as the primordial Buddha, the primordial protector, and the tathagatagarbha. The latter is the appearance of all permanent and impermanent dharmas, the various appearances, the interdependent arising like an illusion. Thus, the master Yeshe Nyingpo said, "Only this, how it appears, is the conventional, the other is the ultimate." These two truths are united from the beginning. All the permanent and impermanent, samsaric and nirvanic dharmas that appear, from the time of their appearance, have never existed in their own nature, like the image in a mirror, free from the extreme of permanence. Although the nature of emptiness itself has not moved, various appearances arise unceasingly, thus free from the extreme of annihilation. At this time, Master Nagarjuna said, "Because emptiness is possible, everything is possible. Because emptiness is not possible, everything is not possible." etc. If the dharmas were truly established by their own nature, they would not abandon their respective characteristics. Therefore, one would obstruct the other, and arising and destruction etc. would become impossible. If all dharmas are emptiness, then that fault does not exist. Therefore, dependent arising can be established in emptiness etc. It is very important to understand the meaning of the six collections of reasoning of Madhyamaka. In the commentary on the Root Verses on the Middle Way, Gala Yijime, it says, "The Buddhas, the Bhagavat, teach the Dharma based on these two truths. The so-called worldly conventional truth refers to the fact that the world sees all dharmas arising on the basis of the emptiness of the nature of dharmas, due to reversed conceptualizations. This is true for them in the conventional, so it is the conventional truth.
