Without change. All is empty, without afflictions. Beyond words, of craving, The destroyer of bonds, the lamp of beings. Also not the realm of mind. Without afflictions and liberated from duality. Supreme meaning, grant liberation. I prostrate to that unchanging nature. When one touches that nature, All thoughts are unthinkable. When thinking is unthinkable, Then it becomes inconceivable. How beings are unthinkable, How the unthinkable is the Victorious One. Therefore, the Buddha who is beyond thought, Has well explained this thought. In that unthinkable mind, Separated from the path of all thoughts. Various imputations, without imputations. Without attachment, it is great bliss. It is the supreme of all aspects. Transcending all senses, without form. Also the nature of real and unreal. But has abandoned the distinction between real and unreal. Because it is not material, it is self-awareness. It is not knowledge, nor is it a seer. Because it is formless, it does not dwell anywhere. Because it is without change, it is constant. Thus it is said. In the Handprint it is said: It should not be viewed as the ultimate truth. Neither viewing nor non-viewing, neither of the two. Self-awareness is the supreme peace. Real and unreal, causing them to cease. This is the great supreme nature. The nature of real and unreal is peace. Thus it is said. In the Hevajra it is said: Self-awareness is the nature of purity. Purity is not liberated by another. Thus it is said. In the Kalachakra it is said: There is no change in the increase of increase. There is also no decrease in the decrease. There is no disappearance of disappearance. There is no arising of arising. There is no extreme clarity of extreme clarity. There is also no covering of covering. There is no becoming of becoming. There is also no dying of dying. There is also no becoming of liberation. There is no non-dwelling of non-dwelling. There is no non-thing of non-thing. There is also no nature of thing of thing. There is no change in the change of change. There is no non-change in the non-change. Thus, countless things are spoken. In the profound sutras also, it is said. In the Perfection of Wisdom Collection it is said: Beings say they see the sky, Consider carefully how the sky is seen. Whoever sees it in that way sees all dharmas. The seer cannot be explained by another example. Thus it appears and so on. In the treatises also, in the Small Truth of Madhyamaka:

By examining in the manner of non-existence, the name of seeing emptiness is established. Seeing that which is unseen, is taught in the sutras of profound depth. Thus and so forth, it is taught limitlessly. Secondly, severing the root: By looking at objects, one sees mind without objects; By looking at mind, mind is empty of essence; By looking at both, dualistic grasping dissolves on its own. May I realize the nature of the clear light mind! That is to say, objects are forms, sounds, smells, tastes, textures, and dharmas, and by looking at those appearances that arise and remaining in equanimity, the wisdom that arises from meditation will cause one to see that the objects of abiding do not have their own essence, but are merely mind. Likewise, by looking at the essence of mind itself and remaining in equanimity, one will realize that mind is without foundation or root. By remaining in equanimity with the taste of appearance and mind as one, the grasping of subject and object will dissolve on its own in the absence of a foundation. Therefore, by relying on such a method, may the wisdom of insight arise that realizes the nature of the clear light mind as it is, free from obscurations by its very nature. In this case, in the various stages of instruction, there is the establishment of introducing appearances as mind, mind as emptiness, emptiness as spontaneously present, and spontaneously present as naturally liberated. Although one may have realized the nature of reality through the eleven mental engagements and other instructions, if one is not introduced to it later by the instruction of severing the root, one will not gain certainty. Thus, some Tibetans may make the search for mind and other such things, which are the main parts of the decisive instructions, a laughing matter, but they are merely exhausting all of their own false learning. The Manifestation of Enlightenment states: "Enlightenment and omniscience should be sought entirely from one's own mind. Why is that? Because that mind is completely pure by its very nature; it is not inside, it is not outside, nor is it perceived between the two." And: "Sons or daughters of good family who wish to fully understand enlightenment should seek their own mind." And so forth, it is extensively taught the reasons why one should search for mind, the methods of how to search, and so on, and finally: "Lord of Secrets, this is the mind of enlightenment of the bodhisattvas, in various ways."
