Mo (seed syllable, Tibetan), Rang tse la (seed syllable, Tibetan), not harming, not touching, thus the mind does not see the mind. As it is said in the Bodhicharyavatara: "Just as a lamp, by its own nature, illuminates clearly, it is not for illuminating the lamp, because there is no darkness." Such faults will arise. The meaning of the second verse is: Then, should the nature of the mind be understood as completely non-existent and invisible? It should not be understood in this way either, because if there were no essence of the mind's naturally pure essence, then the appearance of samsara and nirvana, even nominally, could not be established, because the establishment of samsara and nirvana is based on the difference between realizing and not realizing this basis. As it is said in the Praise of Dharmadhatu: "Because there is a realm, by doing actions, one can see conch shells, etc. Because there is no realm, even if one does actions, only afflictions arise." And, like that, all seeds produce fruits similar to the cause. Who with intelligence can establish that there is a fruit without a seed? The realm that has become the seed is considered the basis of all phenomena. From gradual purification, Buddhahood will be attained. Etc., it is clearly stated with examples. At this time, it is also necessary to understand this key point, that is, all the dharmas of samsara and nirvana that appear as characteristics, although they do not abide in their own nature and have never existed, the reason why the possibility of all appearances is not contradictory, is spoken of in the Vajra of the Mind and the essence of naturally pure nature, etc., but it is impossible for something with the extremes of truth and permanence to exist. Then, how should we understand the perfections of purity, permanence, bliss, etc., spoken of in the sutras of the last turning of the wheel of Dharma, and the indestructible wisdom, etc., spoken of in the tantras? As it is said in the Ornament: "That which is non-existent is said to be the supreme of existence; that which is not seen in any way is said to be the supreme of seeing." As such, the thusness of naturally pure nature is indivisible by proliferation and characteristics, is beyond the object of mind, and is the meaning of not changing to other states, etc. The necessity of speaking in this way is to dispel the great demon of clinging to emptiness.

Therefore, clinging to it is even worse than clinging to permanence. The sutra says: "Clinging to self is as easy as Mount Meru, but clinging to selflessness is not so." And so on. Nagarjuna says: "If one views emptiness incorrectly, those with little wisdom will be destroyed." This is because, although emptiness is taught to destroy the clinging to reality, if one clings to emptiness as a real entity, one becomes even more attached to reality than worldly people, which is extremely bad, like taking a purgative to eliminate disease, but the purgative itself becomes poison. Therefore, the Sutra of the Samadhi of the Four Children says: "Whoever thinks of emptiness with an empty mind, and thinks of that emptiness with emptiness, whoever does not see emptiness, that person knows emptiness." And, the Root Wisdom says: "If there is a little non-emptiness, then there is also a little emptiness. If there is no non-emptiness at all, then how can there be emptiness? The Buddhas declared emptiness to be the definitive removal of all views. Those who hold the view of emptiness, the Buddhas said, are incurable." It should be understood as it appears. The meaning of the third and fourth lines is: If the nature of the mind is described as both existent and nonexistent, then it is impossible for both existence and non-existence to exist on one basis, so there is the fault of contradiction. But it is not so, because both existence and non-existence have been negated, not affirmed as both. In short, it cannot be expressed by any term such as existence, non-existence, emptiness, non-emptiness, etc., it does not abide in anything, and it transcends the realm of the mind. In order to realize it in a way that is not realized, it is only shown as a negation of the extremes of permanence, annihilation, exaggeration, and denigration, but after abandoning those extremes, there is not even a particle to be established. Nagarjuna says: "In order to abandon all conceptual thoughts, the nectar of emptiness is taught, but whoever clings to it, you have abandoned him." And, the Sutra of Akashagarbha says: "The wise do not hold the views of existence and non-existence. Emptiness is proclaimed by sound, but there is no emptiness in sound, because it is silent and speechless. Therefore, it is called emptiness. Although all the Buddhas teach, emptiness is inexpressible. Who is that"
