Now that different ways of practice have emerged, some people see others' ways as not being Dharma and engage in mutual insults. These are all meaningless accumulations of karma of abandoning the Dharma. In their respective positions, each has its own truth, so one should not insult any side. However, the ultimate destination is only Mahamudra. If one practices like the five perfections, first, one must generate refuge and bodhicitta in the mindstream as usual, that is the first. The so-called Vajrayana teachings are the two stages of generation and completion, so one should visualize oneself as Vajravarahi or any other deity, practicing the generation stage with four characteristics, that is the second. Visualize the root guru on the crown of the head or in the heart, and generate strong devotion, that is the third. The main practice is to cultivate the union of shamatha and vipassana, that is the fourth. Finally, seal it with the dedication and aspiration of the three spheres without conceptualization, that is the fifth. There is not a single teaching sequence of Sutra and Tantra that does not include these five perfections, so this alone is sufficient for Dharma practice, and there is no need for too much elaboration. Even if one knows the eighty-four thousand Dharma doors, if one does not practice them, one will die like an ordinary person at the time of death. In general, during the stage of accumulation and purification, one should be like a hungry person seeing food, putting into practice whatever Dharma one sees and hears without hesitation. During the stage of establishing practice, one should not think too much about what to do and what to remember, but focus on one practice until a single experience arises, and one must be able to endure hardship. That is to say, as a method of generating samadhi, one must first practice shamatha. Just as the reflection of the moon cannot be clearly seen in muddy water, because the mind is never separated from distraction even for a moment, one cannot ascertain the wisdom of vipassana. Even if one can ascertain it vaguely, one cannot obtain stability. If a beginner mixes with distraction, samadhi will not arise, so one must have physical and mental solitude. That is to say, even if one cannot generate a genuine thought of abandoning this life, one should not think about any worldly affairs in one's mind during that time. One's own food and clothing should also be thought of as whatever it is, and one should not think about whether one can make a living or not. One's sleeping place and other necessities should also be thought of as whatever is available, and one should not think that this is not good, it must be this. One should not think that this is not good, one must do this, etc. One should also not read books or copy texts, and if one really has no choice, one should only do a little.

If you follow one thought, you will fall into a vicious cycle and gradually lose your freedom. Absolutely do not engage in meaningless questions, idle talk, or arguments. Do not worry about others not listening to you, and do not dwell on whether things are developing upwards or sinking downwards. In short, in a secluded place, completely abandon all the affairs of this life. To ensure a stable dwelling, draw a Yungdrung (卍) symbol with white earth under the bedding. Once the bed is made, do not move it again. Arrange offerings such as statues of the Buddhas and mandalas, keeping them clean and free from distractions. Before a single experience arises, even if you die, do not change your mind. Repeatedly make strong vows and be upright in the five perfections. For calm abiding, the body posture and the way of looking are very important, so sit in the vajra posture with legs crossed. Place your hands in the meditation mudra four fingers below the navel. Straighten your spine like an arrow. Keep your shoulders open. Slightly bend your neck, pressing down on the Adam's apple. Keep your lips naturally closed, without smiling, and touch your tongue to the upper palate. Gaze gently with eyes slightly closed at the space eight fingers in front of the tip of your nose. The key point of the mind is not to cut off the past, that is, do not think about anything that has already happened. Do not welcome the future, that is, do not consider any possible good or bad things that may happen in the future. Keep the present awareness in a natural, unfabricated state, that is, do not expect whether you can succeed in meditation, do not doubt whether you will fail, and do not have doubts about whether this is it or not. Instead, regard the present awareness as a dull state, without any modification, negation, or affirmation, and let it transform naturally. That is to say, do not be distracted, do not fabricate. The so-called "unfabricated" contains all the essential points of abiding and is also the three doors of liberation. Beginners should practice for short periods of time and frequently. During meditation, focus your awareness and do not let it wander elsewhere. If a thought suddenly arises, look directly at its true nature. Do not stop this thought, nor follow it. In the intervals after meditation, rely on the awareness of simply recognizing your own nature to remain undistracted. When chatting, deceiving, reading, etc., also rely on awareness. In short, remain undistracted. Whether in meditation or post-meditation, do not let external appearances and sounds, as well as the internal body and mind, become distracted. However, being too forceful is also not good.
