Visualize the Lama residing in the center of a red lotus on a lotus stem. Offer food and drink transformed into nectar. Let all speech become prayers. Meditate that all actions, walking, sitting, and doing, are service to the Lama. When sleeping, visualize the Lama, complete in form, residing in your heart, with light illuminating your body and dwelling. In this state, fall asleep. Upon waking, immediately visualize the Lama residing on the crown of your head, with devotion and prayer. Meditate in the same way while sitting. When using new dwellings, clothes, etc., offer the first portion to the Lama, either physically or mentally. When sick, visualize nectar descending from the complete form of the Lama, washing away all illnesses, so that diseases, sins, and obscurations are purified. As a method for purifying diseases, sins, and obscurations, believe that it arises from the Lama's blessings and cultivate joy. Even if demonic illusions arise, believe that they are manifestations of the Lama's activity, urging you towards virtue. In short, whether experiencing happiness or suffering, contemplate it as the Lama's blessings and compassion, using it as a support for increasing devotion, and not seeking other reliance or help. This is the essential point. In this context, the meaning is: In general, whether practicing the Secret Mantra Vajrayana, or especially the key instructions of the Completion Stage, one must take the Lama's blessings as the path. Without the infusion of blessings, the genuine path will not arise in the continuum. For a Vajra Master who possesses the qualities, if a disciple who possesses the vows plants devotion as the anchor of their heart, even without other methods, they will attain both common and supreme accomplishments. Once devotion to the Lama is absent, even if one completes the recitation and practice of the four classes of tantras of the Yidam, one will not attain the supreme accomplishment at all. In terms of common accomplishments, there are many aspects that require reliance, such as longevity, wealth, and power, and some of these may not be accomplished. Even if some are slightly accomplished, they must be accomplished with great effort, so the path is not profound. If unwavering devotion arises in the continuum, then clearing obstacles on the path, removing hindrances, and attaining all common and supreme accomplishments will be accomplished without reliance on others. Therefore, it is called the profound path—Lama Yoga, and that is the reason. For both the master and the disciple, if there is no compassion, if they are quick to anger, harbor resentment, are filled with pride, and have strong attachment to wealth and relatives,

Homage. One must abandon those who are not cautious in their actions of body and speech, and those who praise themselves, as they have great faults. In particular, revealing and boasting about the essentials of channels, energies, and bindus, mudras (ཕྱག་རྒྱ། ,梵文:mudrā,梵文罗马拟音:mudrā,meaning: seal), mantras (སྔགས།,梵文:mantra,梵文罗马拟音:mantra, meaning: mantra), activities, and the profound key points of the Completion Stage among ordinary people, claiming that they possess unique instructions that others do not have, and proclaiming the profound views and practices of Secret Mantra in public. They engage in frivolous behavior and claim to have high views. They are extremely attached to the possessions and wealth of the Three Jewels. They are full of deceit and hypocrisy. They give empowerments and instructions without lineage. They delight in the pleasures of alcohol and union. Teachers who cannot teach the path correctly and without distortion, but instead teach self-made words that are contrary to the Dharma, are blessed by demons and should be abandoned in every way. Students who lack faith, do not keep their vows, are fond of new acquaintances and flattery, and are fickle-minded should not be closely associated with from the beginning, unless they can be gradually reformed. Although the qualities of a lama are extensively described in all the sutras and tantras, at the very least, they should not have degenerated in faith and vows, should have completed retreats and practice, should know how to practice, should not be too attached to the eight worldly concerns, and should have some experience in the Dharma they teach to others. Students should at least have unwavering faith, be able to keep their vows, and not associate with bad friends. Examining the qualities of the teacher and student should be done before receiving empowerments and teachings. Once the empowerments and teachings have been received, even if the teacher has committed the four root downfalls, they should still be regarded with respect, and one should not engage in loss of faith, slander, examination, or criticism. It is said that even upon hearing just one verse: If you do not regard the lama with respect, You will be born as a dog a hundred times, And you will be born as a leper. As for lamas, it is impossible to find someone who has abandoned all faults and perfected all qualities due to the times. Even if one finds someone who possesses some qualities, if one's own perception is impure, one will see faults in those qualities, just as Devadatta saw faults in the Buddha. Many similar things have happened. Nowadays, most people are those who share the karma of accumulating negative actions, so they see faults as qualities and qualities as faults. There are also those who see people with no qualities that accord with the Dharma and can discern the hidden and the obvious as holy beings. Therefore, one should examine things as they are.
