Born into a noble lineage. Destroying the demonic armies that others cannot defeat. A body as majestic as a golden Mount Meru. I prostrate to you, the king of the Shakyas. Whoever first generated the mind of Bodhi, And perfected the two accumulations of merit and wisdom, At this time, with vast deeds, became the Protector of beings, I praise you. Knowing the time to tame and benefit the gods, Descending from the heavens, walking like an elephant king, Observing the lineage, into the womb of the goddess Maya, You entered, I prostrate. When the ten months were complete, the son of the Shakyas, Was born in the auspicious Lumbini Grove, Brahma and Indra praised the supreme name, Determined as the lineage of Bodhi, I prostrate. The youthful, powerful lion among men, Showed skills in Anga and Magadha, Subduing the arrogant beings, You became incomparable, I prostrate. To act in accordance with worldly customs, And to abandon faults, possessing a retinue of consorts, With skillful means, You ruled the kingdom, I prostrate. Seeing that the affairs of samsara are meaningless, From home, You renounced and walked in the sky, In front of the pure stupa, yourself to yourself, You fully ordained, I prostrate. Thinking to accomplish Bodhi with diligence, For six years on the banks of the Nairanjana River, You practiced austerities, perfecting diligence, You attained supreme meditation, I prostrate. So that the efforts from beginningless time would be meaningful, Under the Bodhi tree of Magadha, Sitting in an unmoving lotus posture, manifestly enlightened, You accomplished perfect Bodhi, I prostrate. To destroy the evil opponents of others, The six heretical teachers and Devadatta, etc., In the land of Oddiyana, you subdued the demons, The Sage triumphed in battle, I prostrate. When you, the chief of bipeds, were born, you took seven steps on this great earth, saying: I am supreme in this world. At that time, I prostrate to you, the wise one! In Varanasi, you turned the wheel of Dharma, in Jeta Grove, you displayed great miracles, in Kushinagar, you passed into Nirvana, I prostrate to the one whose mind is like the sky! In this way, praising the deeds of the Bhagavan, the lord of the teachings, may this virtue make the actions of all beings, be the same as the deeds of you, the Sugata! The Tathagata, your body, etc., the teacher, the world, etc., the praise of miracles: First, generating the mind of supreme Bodhi in the place of enlightenment, accumulating merit for countless three kalpas, in the middle, destroying the four maras, I prostrate to the Bhagavan Lion! The King of Sages who acts in times of strife, from Rajagriha to Vaishali, Kaushambi, Varkhim, and the great vehicle Shrir, I pay homage to the one who goes to Shravasti in sequence!
