May all the sufferings of all beings be eliminated. For as long as sentient beings are sick, until they are healed, may I become the doctor and the medicine, and the attendant who cares for the sick. By raining down food and drink, may I clear away the harm of hunger and thirst. During the intermediate aeon of famine, may I become food and drink. For sentient beings who are poor and destitute, may I become an inexhaustible treasure. May I be present before them as a source of all kinds of needed items. My body, likewise my possessions, and all the merit of the three times, for the sake of all sentient beings, I will give without any miserliness. By giving away everything, one attains nirvana. May I accomplish nirvana in my mind. Simultaneously with giving everything away, giving to sentient beings is the best. I have given this body to all embodied beings, to use as they please. Whether they constantly kill, revile, or beat me, etc., it is up to them. They play with my body, or use it as a reason for mockery and jest, since my body has already been given to them, why care about these words? Allow them to do whatever action that will not harm them. May I never let anyone act meaninglessly because of me. Whichever beings generate anger or faith towards me, may that itself become the cause for them to accomplish great aims. Whichever beings speak ill of me, or harm others, or likewise make fun of me, may they all have the fortune to attain enlightenment. I become the protector of those without protection, the guide for those on a journey, and the boat for those wishing to cross over, as well as a raft and a bridge. For those seeking an island, I become an island, for those wanting a dwelling, I become a dwelling, may I become the servant of all beings who want a servant. Wish-fulfilling jewel and excellent vase, accomplishment of mantra and great medicine, and wish-granting tree, become the source of fulfilling the desires of embodied beings. May I, like the great elements such as earth, and like space, always be the basis for the various necessities of life for immeasurable sentient beings. Likewise, for all sentient beings reaching to the ends of space, in every way, until all beings attain nirvana, may I be the basis for their necessities of life. Thus it is said. May I quickly attain Buddhahood! To benefit beings, I will teach the Dharma, and liberate them from the suffering that afflicts many sentient beings. Thus. Offering homage, making offerings, confessing, rejoicing, exhorting, and praying, whatever small amount of merit I have accumulated, I dedicate it all for the sake of enlightenment. These are. From then on, regarding the aspects of taking vows: The method of simultaneously taking the generation of the mind and vows according to the profound view lineage is extracted from the Bodhisattvacharyavatara: Until I reach the essence of enlightenment, I take refuge in all the Buddhas, and likewise, I take refuge in the Dharma and the assembly of Bodhisattvas. Just as the Sugatas of the past generated the mind of enlightenment and dwelt in the training of the Bodhisattvas in that order, so too, for the benefit of beings, I will generate the mind of enlightenment, and likewise, I will train in the training in that order. Repeat three times. After that, self-exhortation: Today my life has meaning, I have obtained a good human existence, today I am born into the lineage of the Buddha, today I have become a child of the Buddha. Now, by all means, I must begin activities that are in accordance with the lineage, and for this stainless monastic lineage, I will not allow it to become defiled, I will act in this way. Thus. Praising others: Today, in the presence of all the protectors, I have invited beings and the Sugata himself, as well as those in between who are happy, as guests, may the gods and demigods and others rejoice. Thus. Making aspirations: The mind of enlightenment is a precious jewel, may those who have not generated it generate it, may those who have generated it not decline, and may it increase more and more. May I not be separated from the mind of enlightenment, may I be devoted to the conduct of enlightenment, may I be embraced by the Buddhas, and may I abandon the works of Mara. May the Bodhisattvas accomplish the benefit of beings that they have in mind. May whatever the Protector intends, may all sentient beings attain it. May all sentient beings have happiness, may all the lower realms always be emptied. May the aspirations of all those Bodhisattvas who dwell on the bhumis be fulfilled. Thus. At this time, generating the assembly support and the assembly.
