Therefore, in order to attain the three goals to be accomplished, one must practice. The reasons for sequentially showing attainment, practice, etc., have been explained before and will be explained later as well. Third, these ten dharmas are shown in the manner of inducing the omniscient object-possessor, that is, in the manner of directly knowing the mind generation, etc., which possess cause and effect, is omniscience. Fourth is saying omniscience itself. Then, whose wisdom or realization is it? It is that of the Sugata, the perfect Buddha. Then, what are the various distinctions of these ten dharmas as the path and fruit of the Great Vehicle? Because in each of the ten dharmas, either the entire path of the Great Vehicle is completely determined, or the fruit is completely determined, or both are determined, therefore it is called its various distinctions. For example, in the Compendium, in each of the sixty instances of substance, etc., all aggregates, etc., are also completely determined, so it is considered a distinction of the three dharmas. Then, how are the path and fruit determined in each of the ten dharmas? If you ask those who only rely on trivial matters of piling up words and want to be rescued from the fear of not understanding this treatise, it seems like asking a blind person about the distinction of colors. Therefore, when listening, one must ascertain through hearing and thinking from a knowledgeable and compassionate spiritual friend; when explaining, one must hold the Dharma and sentient beings in one's heart, and explain it by those who do not deviate from the four conducts, thereby freeing oneself from the faults of the vessel and listening. Second, the so-called path knowledge itself, then what is path knowledge? There are also four kinds as before. First, there are eleven dharmas, which are summarized into two, namely, the limb of path knowledge and the path knowledge possessing limbs. First, the light of the Tathagata-nature makes the light of the ripening of gods, etc., dim, which is the actual arising of path knowledge after destroying pride, and so on, the respective objects of its actual arising are certain, possessing mind generation, and pervading through its arising, and the two desires of craving and attachment, which are called afflictions, have the nature of intentionally pursuing without abandoning, and are those who do the work of benefiting others, there are five kinds in total. Second, it is the path that follows others, and

Among the two paths of self-manifestation. The first, the attainment of Bodhi necessarily relies on the master, which is the path to be shown to disciples of the Hearer lineage; and living alone, symbolized by the rhinoceros horn, which is the path to be shown to those of the Solitary Realizer lineage, understanding these two paths. The second, there are two antidotes, namely abandoning part of the obscurations and abandoning all obscurations. The first is the path of seeing, with great benefits such as the virtues of this life, such as being free from illness, and the virtues of future lives, such as non-retrogression. The second, there are two methods of meditation, namely the action of meditation and the meditation with action. The first, its action is the virtue obtained during the meditation, namely peace, etc., which Shantideva explains in an undefiled way. The second, there are two, namely the nature of subsequent attainment of pure worldliness, and the nature of non-conceptualization in equipoise. The first is the cause of perfecting the accumulation of merit, namely the three of aspiration, dedication, and rejoicing. The first also has two parts, the first being the actual aspiration, whose function is to generate ungenerated merit. The essence of aspiration is the faith and its associated factors that arise from the causes of scripture and reasoning, believing in the source of the meaning of the Prajnaparamita, the mother of the three Buddhas. The second, its benefit is to generate joy in the Bodhisattva who practices it, praising the state of self-benefit aspiration with the distinction of small, medium, and large, respecting the benefit of both, and praising the benefit of others, each with nine aspects. The second, the characteristic of transforming the accumulated merit into the cause of Bodhi, dedication is the unsurpassed function of making merit inexhaustible. The third, rejoicing, the essence of the unsurpassed mind is to cultivate the joy of virtue as it is. The function is to fully increase the accumulation of merit. The second, there are two paths, namely the path of accomplishing qualities and the path of completely purifying adverse factors. The first, the path of meditation called accomplishing qualities is the path of meditation that includes the real antidote of abandoning adverse factors, the immediate path. The second, the path of meditation called completely purifying adverse factors is the path of liberation that includes abandoning adverse factors.
