If asked, is this itself a sign from the beginning? No, the sixteen subsequent actions it leads to are the first signs. It means that realizing that the nature of form, etc., is emptiness, thereby reversing the notion of clinging to form, etc., as true; due to the blessings of the Buddhas, etc., even if the demons want to separate the omniscient wisdom, they cannot, thereby making the mind firm; due to the practice of the union of skillful means and wisdom, thereby completely transforming the mind from the two inferior vehicles; by the power of distinguishing all phenomena as emptiness, even if one meditates on the formless absorptions such as the four dhyanas, the cause of being born in them is completely exhausted, these four are the objects of suffering. The four of the origin of suffering are: because of being separated from the non-virtues to be abandoned by the path of seeing, one can use virtues at will, thereby making body and mind light and comfortable; because of obtaining the power of skillful means to subdue those with attachment, even if one enjoys the qualities of desire, one will not be attached; because of seeing the faults of objects, one will always enter into pure conduct; living by the Dharma nature of a noble person, thereby making life pure and abandoning wrong livelihood. The four of cessation are: stopping attachment to knowable aggregates, etc., discordant factors, antidotal purification, and names. The first is: stopping the dwelling of the combination and subsequent combination of the three aggregates, etc., and dependent origination. Shantipa explains that combination is calm abiding, and subsequent combination is insight, but the teacher believes that first is clinging to combination, and then continuous clinging to subsequent combination. The noble ones believe that suffering and origin should be known first, and cessation and path should be known later. The reason for stopping is: because of directly realizing that the aggregates, etc., are empty. The second is: stopping the two attachments to the dharmas that obstruct the three paths of afflictions and thoughts, because the discordant factors of the path of seeing have been eliminated. The third is: stopping the two attachments to the accumulation of the causes of enlightenment, which are like armies and various numerous trees, because the faults of discrimination have been completely understood. Speaking of stories is to understand the antidote to discrimination that is merely nominal. The fourth is: the word village indicates the root

Relying on the power of (a place), and the dominion represented by the name of a town, attachment to the war speech of those who are to be killed, who are opposed to the self and what belongs to the self, and the killer, both of these attachments are prohibited. The reason is that what can be grasped and the grasper should be abandoned. In short, by separating the word "war" alone, although the word "and" can be obtained as a distinguishing tone, the word "of" as the sixth case is an incorrect translation. As stated in the ṭīkā. The fourth obstacle on the path is: for the six faults such as stinginess and moral corruption, first, the action of attachment is generated, and then the subsequent action of continuous attachment is prohibited, the purpose is to realize the special pāramitā. The word "each" should be connected to the two words action and subsequent action. Because all dharmas such as form are understood as the essence of the three doors of liberation, therefore, for the dharmas that need to be realized such as the aspects of bodhi, even if they are as small as dust, they are invisible, and because one has obtained the faith in one's own realization that cannot be taken away by others, one has obtained certainty about the three wisdoms that one knows, therefore, there is no longer any doubt about other bodhi, and one abides in the three wisdoms that one knows, completely focusing on omniscience, so that one can sacrifice one's life for the sake of the dharma that becomes the cause of omniscience. The sixteen moments just mentioned are the true signs of non-retrogression for the wise bodhisattvas who are dwelling on the path of seeing. Third, regarding the signs of non-retrogression of the meditator, the teacher's explanation is to supplement the key meaning. The first part includes: the special characteristics of the path of meditation, the nature of the path of meditation as a special basis, the elimination of debates on these, and the four aspects of the real reason. The first point is "the path of meditation is" and so on. The second part is divided into two points: the essence is "determination" and so on. Its classification is "that is continuous" and so on. The third part is divided into two points: the elimination of debates on classification is "countless" and so on. The elimination of debates on action is divided into two points: first, for the elimination of debates on temporary action, the debate is "things can be said" and so on. The answer is "how is bodhi" and so on. For the elimination of debates on ultimate action, the debate is "the mind is" and so on two sentences. The answer is "lamp" and so on two sentences.
