It is intention. Therefore, it is unreasonable to want to show the sign of non-retrogression with this, because it is from this extension that the subsequent treatises show. How does it show? Second, if the bodhisattvas who abide on the three paths are a sangha of non-retrogression, then is there a reason to establish it? If not, merely establishing the proposition cannot generate certainty in the opponent with thought, and if so, what is it? The answer to this is that for the bodhisattvas who abide on the path of accumulation, the path of seeing, and the path of meditation, there are three reasons for establishment. The first has two types: teaching and explanation. First, it shows that the first has twenty, that is, the bodhisattvas who abide in the stage of discernment, all of these are dharmas, the nature of non-retrogression from the present perfect enlightenment, is its nature, because it has obtained twenty aspects of the sign that, in short, turn away from form and so on, and the cessation of doubt and so on. Second, in the explanation, there are eleven signs of the heat stage, six of the peak stage, two of the forbearance stage, and one of the supreme dharma stage. The first is that, since all forms and so on are realized to be without self-nature, therefore the attachment to truth from form and so on to omniscience is reversed, and since faith is obtained by knowing the qualities of the Three Jewels, therefore doubt about them is ceased, and since the wish to be born as desired is fulfilled, therefore the eight unfavorable conditions are ceased, and since they have compassion for others, therefore they themselves completely abandon the ten non-virtuous deeds, abide in the ten virtuous deeds, and cause other beings to abide in these virtuous deeds, and since they exchange their own and others' happiness and suffering, therefore they become the basis for benefiting others and practice generosity and so on, and dedicate it to enlightenment, and since they realize the profound meaning of the two selflessnesses, therefore there is no doubt about it, and since they benefit others with both thought and action, therefore they enter into the actions of body, speech, and mind that are aroused by loving-kindness, and since they obtain the perfect practice of the three trainings, therefore the obscurations are mainly incompatible with the five obstacles, and since they meditate on emptiness, therefore they destroy all the latent tendencies of ignorance and so on, and since they constantly abide in equanimity without being distracted from the place of what should be taken and abandoned, therefore they have the mindfulness of not forgetting it and the correct knowledge of repeatedly realizing the activities of the three doors, and since they constantly practice inner and outer cleanliness, therefore clothes and so on are clean without lice, and all actions are clean and there are few diseases. Second, there are body, mind, and action.

Enhancement, practice, yoga, and pure intention. First, by obtaining excellence from ordinary roots of virtue, the eighty thousand types of insects do not arise in the body; second, by obtaining the Mahayana mind, there is no distracted mind such as the attention of Hearers and Solitary Realizers; third, not looking at gain and respect, etc., one takes up the twelve qualities of asceticism; fourth, by diligently practicing giving, etc., there is no stinginess, etc.; fifth, by gathering all dharmas into emptiness, one goes in accordance with the nature of dharma; sixth, by compassionately taking beings as one's own, one seeks hell for the sake of sentient beings, that is, pursuing benefit. Third, not abandoning one's own path, not entering the path of others. First, by obtaining firm faith in emptiness, even if other demons disguised as monks lead one to other paths, they cannot be moved; second, being skilled in the six perfections of the Buddha's means, one understands that the demon who teaches other paths that contradict the six perfections is called a demon. Fourth, with wisdom purifying the clinging to characteristics of the three spheres, one obtains the conduct that pleases the Buddhas. The signs are that, from those twenty signs, with eleven one obtains the heat stage, with six one obtains the peak stage, with two one obtains the forbearance stage and possesses the simultaneous stage, and with one one obtains the highest mundane dharma stage. A bodhisattva abiding in these four stages can attain the state of non-retrogression from complete enlightenment. "Possessing" means the meaning of the simultaneous stage, and "all" is a plural word, applicable to all four. Here, in both the scriptural and logical proofs, by actually showing the subsequent conduct that ultimately establishes non-retrogression, which makes others believe, complete enlightenment can arise without being interrupted by other vehicles, and through the door of great compassion, the sign of equipoise that does not abide in form, etc., is implied. Second, there are scriptural and logical proofs. First, stating that there are sixteen moments of equipoise, knowledge, and forbearance, that is, the sixteen moments gathered by forbearance and knowledge are the characteristic of a bodhisattva abiding on the path of seeing who can attain the state of non-retrogression from complete enlightenment, and it should be known as the reason. Second, if that is the case,
