Because those two did not include all conditioned phenomena. The word "also" not only indicates that there is a difference between the previous dharmas and the unconditioned, but also indicates that there is a difference in this as well. If form is also a skandha, then is it a form skandha? Or is it a skandha related to form, so it is a form skandha? According to the first case, each form should not be a conditioned phenomenon, because it is not a form skandha, nor is it another skandha. If the first case is not established, then each form has no meaning of skandha, because the meaning of skandha refers to something that is not gathered. According to the latter case, if there is no other form skandha outside of form, then how can it be said to be related? Because individual dust particles do not exist, only when they are gathered together can they be called a skandha, just as individual people are not an army, but only when they are gathered together can they be called an army. According to the latter case, there is no contradiction, just like "the body that has become form." The second is divided into two: the general nomenclature of conditioned phenomena, and the specific nomenclature of contaminated phenomena. The first is: all the Dharma Abhidharma explain and determine the Sutras, in the Sutras it says: "Bhikkhus, there are three times," and "There are three bases of discussion, there is no fourth, and there is no fifth," and "Whatever is manifestly conditioned and accumulated will surely arise," and "What are the dharmas with a basis? They are all conditioned phenomena," what is the meaning of these words? The conditioned phenomena themselves are called time, Adhvan (梵文,Adhvan,Time) is time, and it also applies to the road, if it is used for the road, then in the three times, people come and go to the city, so it is the road, if it is used for time, then the conditioned phenomena in the three times are stopped, are stopping, and will stop, so is it time? The characteristic of conditioned phenomena is impermanence, so it devours and destroys, so it is called time. Those are called the basis of discussion, because the discussion, that is, the sound of language, is the form of letters, is it the basis that should be expressed? Or, meaningful talk is language, and the basis is the name, because it is with it, so it is called the basis of discussion. Then, only the name will become the basis of discussion, is this not universal? This is grasping the basis of the basis, that is, the basis of discussion is the name, and the basis of the name is all conditioned phenomena, because the *Vibhasa* says: "The basis of discussion is contained by the eighteen realms," which contradicts

Therefore. Furthermore, if it is argued that although it is unconditioned, it is still the object of names and thus becomes the basis of speech, it is not so. The unconditioned is not included in the three times, so it has no connection with names that are included by time. The term "basis" refers to cause and place, but the unconditioned is not a cause, and its expression in speech is limited. Moreover, the conditioned is different from those three. It is also called "accompanied by definite emergence," meaning that one must transcend it to attain the unconditioned. If it is argued that the path truth should not be abandoned, so it cannot be done in that way, it is like a boat that ferries across water, but is discarded when one travels on land. Although the path is the cause of attaining liberation, it is also discarded when entering the state of no residue, so it is acceptable. It is called "having a basis" because the term "basis" generally applies to five meanings. In terms of essence, it means possessing the very basis that has been attained. In terms of object, it means that by knowing all phenomena, one must know the basis as it is. In terms of what should be universally combined, it means that whoever possesses the universal combination of attachment also possesses the universal combination of anger. In terms of cause, if asked what is a phenomenon with a basis, it is all conditioned phenomena. In terms of what is taken, it is like abandoning the basis of fields and the basis of houses and returning from them. Therefore, the meaning of basis here is cause. However, the Sutra School asserts it to be essence. The second is: Moreover, in the sutra it says, "Listen to the aggregates and the aggregates of clinging that I have taught," and so on, showing the different names of the contaminated. Among the previously mentioned conditioned phenomena, those that are said to be contaminated are also the aggregates of clinging. Here, clinging refers to afflictions, and the aggregates that arise from them are the aggregates of clinging, like a fire of grass and wood. Alternatively, because they depend on clinging, like the subjects of a king. Alternatively, because of the meaning of clinging arising, like a tree of flowers and fruits. There is no fault of non-pervasion in the aggregates of an arhat. It means that the changes of benefit and harm caused by the attachment and aversion of other continuums arise, and based on that, the afflictions of others also arise, and the vessel is also the same. Furthermore, they are also called "accompanied by strife," because afflictions are like strife.
