If someone asks, since the previous two sentences have already established the unconditioned, wouldn't it be redundant to say that "the path" and "the unconditioned" establish the unconditioned? There are three answers: Some say that this is to dispel the wrong views about the three feelings. Because feelings have three types: pleasant feeling, painful feeling, and neutral feeling. Or, as the Exemplifier said, the aggregates of the container world and the Arhat are not the basis and antidote of the contaminated, so neither of them is. To dispel the doubt of "Am I neither of the two?", that's why it is said. Some say that even if the meaning has been understood, it is not redundant to explain it more clearly, just like teaching and learning. Virtue Intelligence said that because it said "except for the path", there will be doubt whether the worldly path is also uncontaminated? In order to dispel this doubt, it is said "the truth of the path". And "the unconditioned" has no reputation, so it is not understood as uncontaminated, so it is expressed in its own words. The first statement is unreasonable, because it is not necessarily only doubted that neither of them is. The second statement is unreasonable, because the doubt of "which is neither of the two, and which is uncontaminated" will arise, so it has not been established that the meaning has been understood. The third statement is unreasonable, because in the case of doubting that the worldly path is uncontaminated, if it is said that "the truth of the path is uncontaminated", it cannot dispel the doubt. Therefore, it is said that "conditioned dharmas other than the path". When doubting which of the path and the unconditioned is neither of the two and which is uncontaminated, in order to show that it is not neither of the two, but uncontaminated, the following text is said. That's how I understand it. Second, there are three types of the unconditioned, namely space and the two cessations. It is divided into three types because the Vaibhashikas believe that moments and atoms are also unconditioned, so the number is large. And the Sutra school believes that selective cessation and non-selective cessation are only one type, so the number is small. The word "also" here means that not only dharmas have classifications, but also the unconditioned has classifications. Regarding these three unconditioned, the characteristic of space is: unconditioned, unspecified, substantially existent. It is said in the sutra: A Brahmin asked Gautama: What does the earth rely on? Brahmin, it relies on water. What does water rely on? Rely on the wind. What does the wind rely on? Rely on space. What does space rely on? Space has no reliance, no appearance, no object. Because it can play the role of reliance, the Vaibhashika school believes that it is substantially existent. The Sutra school believes that it is real.

It is considered as non-existent. Its characteristic is that it is unobstructed, not obstructing the arising and ceasing of other forms, and it is the dharma that reveals. Without it, there would be no opportunity for arising and ceasing, and going and staying, etc. With it, one can obtain these opportunities, which is the meaning of revealing. Then, would mind and mental factors, as well as cessation, also pervade space, since they do not obstruct? That is not the case, because the wisdom of a powerful yogi can cause others' wisdom to become mad, etc., thus obstructing the basis, and cessation also obstructs the arising of some future dharmas, so it is reasonable to say so. Furthermore, if the space with or without obstruction appears as non-existent and existent, would it not be all-pervasive or impermanent? Even in places like walls, there is space. If there were no space, there would be no revelation, and the wall itself would not be able to stand. Other forms cannot arise, not because space does not reveal, but because it is obstructed. The characteristic of the first cessation is separation from all contaminated dharmas. The Vaibhashikas say that because the four truths are taught and are true, they are real, like the other three. This is only similar in terms of truth, but not similar in all aspects, so it is a combination of remainder and delusion, otherwise it would also be conditioned and contaminated. The Sautrantikas consider it to be merely the pacification of what is to be abandoned. Its characteristic is the cessation to be attained by the uncontaminated uninterrupted path. If it is said that it does not pervade the attainment of worldly paths, it is because there are no different cessations in different continuums, so there is no cessation attained only by worldly paths. However, it is reasonable to prevent eternal arising through the power of antidotes. The meaning of the words is the cessation attained through the power of wisdom that separately examines the four truths, like "a pot of ghee," where the middle words are not manifest. The classification is, is the cessation of all contaminated dharmas one or many? They are each different, because "as many dharmas as there are that are possessed, so many dharmas are there that are separated." Therefore, the five types of possessed objects to be abandoned are different, and the antidotes are also different, so the cessations are also different. Otherwise, when the cessation of what is to be abandoned by seeing the truth of suffering is realized, all cessations will be attained, and if one thinks so, one will attain the cessation of the remaining types, so there will be a remainder of the path.
