Because it is without, it is profound; because it is boundless, it is vast; it is filled with crocodiles of attachment, etc., and accompanied by waves of karma. How does this phrase show the four dharmas? The subject matter is "all dharmas," which directly shows wisdom; "well distinguished" indicates the necessity; "without," etc., indicates the negation of the ultimate necessity; the relationship is that if there is direct perception, there is well distinguished, which is a common point shown by implication. Some say that it is distinction, showing the subject matter, i.e., all dharmas, directly showing defiled and undefiled, and the main subject matter is the training of wisdom, so it is shown by "all dharmas well distinguished." "Without" indicates the negation of necessity and ultimate necessity, they say. Second, if this is first shown by faith and then collected by the master is reasonable, then who first showed it? The Vaibhashika's assertion is that these seven treatises were first taught by the teacher dispersedly to various regions and people, and later collected by seven arhats, like the Udanavarga, they think. Who collected what? The one who enters wisdom, Katyayaniputra, The one who makes treatises well, Vasumitra, The collection of consciousness aggregates, Devasarma, The collection of dharma aggregates, Shariputra, The treatise on designation, Maudgalyayaniputra, The categories of beings, Mahakaushthila, The collection of elements, Purna collected. Or, in the Ekottara Agama it is said: The categories of beings, Shariputra. If it is not so, then in the sutra it says, "Bhikkhus are the three pitakas," then the three pitakas would not be complete, because there is no other Abhidharma besides this, they say. The Sautrantikas say that "lo" is a word of dissatisfaction, because in these seven treatises, there are many errors, such as unconditioned dharmas existing as real entities, etc., so the master thinks that this is not the Buddha's word. The Buddha's teachings do not have the fault of the three pitakas being incomplete, because whether it is the Vinaya or the Sutra, whatever shows the characteristics of dharma or the training of wisdom is Abhidharma. Second, discussing the meaning of the text, i.e., the object of Abhidharma, is divided into two: brief explanation and detailed explanation. First is the brief explanation: What are the "all dharmas" that are mentioned? They are the dharmas to be distinguished by Abhidharma, the basis of distinction, the difference in characteristics being defiled dharmas and undefiled dharmas.

is certain. Because this encompasses all dharmas and is a real contradiction that mutually excludes them. So, should conditioned and unconditioned dharmas, etc., also be taught because they possess both types of dharmas? If taught, are debate and examination the same? Or, because it is urgently needed by practitioners as a dharma of acceptance and rejection, only these two are taught. Leaky karma and aggregates are temporarily to be acquired, but because they are the nature of suffering, they are to be abandoned on the path of meditation. Among the leakless dharmas, space and non-imputation are not to be acquired, but ultimately only the leakless cessation path is to be acquired. For other dharmas, it is not necessarily determined as acceptance or rejection, because not all conditioned dharmas are to be abandoned, and not all that is to be acquired is unconditioned. The second part has three points: explaining the leaky, explaining the leakless, and determining these. The first point is: conditioned dharmas other than the truth of the path are called leaky, because from these dharmas, afflictions can universally increase through the door of object or association. Increase means being able to generate and obtain existence momentarily and continuously through the power of object and association. Refuting errors: containers and the aggregates of arhats, etc., increase by taking the afflictions of other beings as objects, and it is thought that afflictions also increase the second affliction. Some think that it is associated with afflictions, then only mind and mental afflictions can become that. If it arises simultaneously, then only the five aggregates pervaded by afflictions can become that. If, as the exemplifier says, it acts as a support, then only the six internal sources can become that, because the scope is too small. If it becomes the object of affliction, then the scope is too broad. Virtue Intelligence says: all dharmas are its object, but space and non-imputation are not objects. If the cessation path is explained as the object of affliction, then it would become leaky. However, the cessation path does not actually increase by wrongly engaging with the leakless as an object. The second part has two points: generally explaining the leakless, and separately explaining the unconditioned. The first point is: the truth of the path and the three unconditioned dharmas are also leakless, the definition of which is the opposite of the leaky. Why is it said that "other than the path" and "conditioned dharma" are the basis for showing the definition of the leaky?
